Very nice! Your picture looks like a beautiful oil painting.

It is. I'm looking at an exceptionally vibrant maple, going orange to red.
May I mention one small thing: fireflies need fallen leaves on the ground in order to complete their life cycle (leaf litter) as do many ground feeding birds. They're also really good for the soil, which is really good for everything!
This is not directed at anyone, just a thought and a hope that in small but important ways there can be encouragement to wildlife.
I'm not suggesting we all do away with out pretty turf or our blowers, but suggest finding ways to incorporate some of that natural cycle into our gardening practices.
Thank you.

@Lilysmom. Sigh. So sad to see all the hard work go, I'm sure. But what a beautiful scene as it fades away. So what project do you have lined up for winter?

Lovely on the trees for sure. There are a few gorgeous colored trees in my neighborhood.

@Kachina624 , we are almost finished a community project which has taken up a huge piece of my life for the last 12 months. We are awaiting a metal art installation and uplighting and that will be done...Phase 1 at least. I keep telling myself Phase 2 will be easier.
I have a quilt in the wings for winter but that won’t surface until the leaves are done. I might be able to piece it together on rainy days.
I bought a new art piece for the garden. Keep you eyes peeled for that.
We have contracted out the removal of downed trees from hurricane Dorian. The workers are coming Nov 3. We would have done that ourselves but it is in a place very hard to work in. A mountain goat would find it challenging. We won’t be buying wood for the wood stove for awhike. Three trees, two if the 100+ years old.
And then it will be winter and everything will slooow down. That’s a good thing! LM
