@Allegheny , nice to 'see you'. I decided to take a break for awhile. Nice to be back! LM

@mousiegirl , that is heather. It spreads quite a bit. That patch is probably 8 years old. Though it does spread, it is very gradual and manageable. LM

@Lilysmom wrote:@Dazlin , when Jersey's family travels, she stays with us. Both Lily and Jersey love the water. Jersey carries that water frisbee around so Lily can't get it. When she gets tired of carrying it in her mouth, she just flips it back on her neck. Those two are hilarious. Totally different personalities but both sweet. We love our Labs! LM
@Lilysmom , fortunate to have you to watch their dogs, hard to find a good dog sitter. I LOVE MY LABS TOO!!

What a nice surprise to see you back with your beautiful pictures. I have missed them.
We can't go to a nursery without making reservation currently. I am saving a lot of money! Just maintenance this year - no pots full of annuals.
Keep those pictures coming.

@Lilysmom , Would you help me with this? My front yard ,is bad, sandy soil, near the sepit tank, first grubs killed grass, and now all kind of weeds growing, been so hot and dry here, i put down grub x about 3 weeks ago, sprayed weeds, now thinking of doing this, i want white clover all in this area, thinking at least it would be green, do not have much money to take care of this, if i got some dirt delivered, not sure what kind would be best, and planted the clover, what do you think?

I'm so glad to see your post of all your garden lovelies (including sweet Lily and Jersey.) I thought of you when I posted yesterday and was hoping we'd see your posts again soon.
Take care and stay well.

@DiAnne , there is social distancing here and limits of numbers of people served within a location depending on size. I don't buy nearly as much as I used to as I am full up. I just move things around.
The nurseries here don't have a good supply of stock as producers cut back significantly not knowing what to expect for this gardening season. I don't know if it is the same for you but EVERYONE is doing yard work with more time at home. DH was making me a set of stairs with 24 x 24 concrete slabs and they have been out of stock for more than a month. Job was half finished. I had my brother from another city bring enough to finish the project.
Mulch is hard to get, soil, annuals, etc. Pools are in high demand and waiting lists are long.
I don't know if it is just me but I find posting photos very difficult. They come in upside down, sideways. Never ran into that before. Is that new? Too frustrating to post often.
Nice to be among old friends here again. LM

@goldensrbest , we have a septic field as well and this Spring did lawn repair. We ordered topsoil, spread it over the affected areas and seeded. We are still watering some days and the grass is coming.
Is there a reputable garden Center near you? We have one here and they will suggest a good soil and proper seed for that area and give you tips for the best time to do the work, seeding and upkeep.
I wonder if someone like @JustJazzmom could recommend a local agency or some other resource in the US you could call for assistance. Our Canadian setup is a bit different.
Good luck. Let me know how you make out. LM

@goldensrbest You might need topsoil mixed with compost to make the soil more moisture retentive. Clover sounds good. It provides food for some wildlife like bees, butterflies & rabbits. Clover also returns nitrogen back into the soil by taking it from the air & fixing it into the soil.
When you get the compost & topsoil, mix it together with the sandy soil. Can you rent a rototiller? You don't want various layers but have it mixed together.
Your local cooperative extension can help too if you decide to grown grass with the right suggestions for your area of the US.
See online for clover seed sources where you can buy it.
