Birds think it is spring where I live

I am in western WA and we have had some pretty mild, dry weather for us this time of year---a few gnarly wind storms too ,but nothing horrendous like the rest of the country------el Nino does that to us here. The birds are almost deafening in the early a.m. and the wild bunnies are running around the the yard. Never see them til April or May and I have hummers draining their food and squaking  at me to fill er up.  I am not complaining----just really enjoying it this time of year.

@wagirl  The weather here is much the same, 64 today or higher.

I am digging out some Alstromeria rhizomes as that is the only way to get rid of them.  they came up in the ground, somehow, when they are all in large pots, as they will take over a garden so I have to restrain them.  The ground is soft now due to the rain three or so days ago, so began yesterday, and will finish today.  It would be easy except that the netting that was laid down before we moved here when the sod was laid, long gone due to moles and gophers, is very difficult to get a shovel through, but I keep at it.

I am looking forward to the lilies this year as I bought quite a few new last Fall, they should begin to bloom around the time the Irises begin, and the Daylilies bloom at different times of the year, always something in bloom.

@mousiegirl-haven't checked my lilies yet---had a few damaged from a falling tree so not sure they will do much---sorted thru them in their smashed pots and threw them in one big one----

@wagirl  Mine were still green a month ago, but now the stems are dead, so  I pulled them. Tthey are pretty tough, they would have to be to survive here, lol.

@wagirl  I'm in Bellingham & definitely seems like spring - even seeing beginnings of crocus - we are blessed to live here in the PNW.
