Someone once told me to put lint out for the bird's nest but the staff at the bird store said it was a bad idea.

I know about the lint.  There are only natural items in the backyard, grasses, twigs, etc.  Thanks, @piperbay

Yes, it seems the birds are very active and I've noticed some getting nesting materials from my backyard, too.  Love to sit outside and hear them chirping and flying around.

Those birds are relentless, we have sparrows building a nest in the cap of our propane tank. They don't hurt anything, but they make such a mess.

we have large crows ripping apart a red maple tree...branches all over our driveway....my husband has been cleaning up after them for a week....crows are a pain....wish they would go to Home Depot for their building supplies.....

This time of year, when i brush my dogs, i save the shed fur and spread it on my bushes for the nesting birds.  Its downy undercoat and soft as silk.

@GingerPeach  I love watching all the birds getting their nests ready.  We have horses and they are shedding off their winter coats, and the birds love to steal the horse hair after my husband brushes the horses.
