Am I Going to Regret This? re: Roberta's

I placed 13 orders of Trample Me Thyme from Roberta's, along with several other varieties of plants.  I don't know what to make of some of the reviews.  I try to be open-minded by knowing many people only write reviews when they are unhappy with their orders.  I also realize that competitors and the vendor will both write a damning or rave review.  Then there are some people who do not know the few basics of caring for their plants, vs. the people who would happily accept anything.

Any thoughts on Roberta's plants or your impression on the variety of reviews?  Roberta's plants are beautiful on TV and I believe that the enthusiasm for their plants shown by Devin and his sister, Stefani,  are sincere and truly believe in what they are selling.  So, is there a problem with the shipper's warehouse?

I  appreciate and thank you for all your thoughts on this.

@rockyrose1.  Roberta's  show plants are grown by professionals under optimum conditions with the best access to fertilizers and minerals and whatever else it takes to grow them.

Most of my Roberta's plants have done okay but they in no way resemble those shown on tv.  They know and use all the tricks of the trade.

I bought a 2nd Roberta's Totem Pole plant a few weeks ago and it's currently in a container in 3 inches of water as directed until it grows roots then I will plant it in soil (indoor plant)  It has not so good reviews on the QVC website but this is my second Pole plant, the first one is about 3 yrs old and it's doing great.  Good luck with your new plants !

[ Edited ]

@rockyrose1,  I have purchased a number of plants from Roberta's over the years and the only losses or problems I've had was due to "operator error" not the plants.

I have also given Roberta's plants as gifts and the recipients have been very happy with the plants.

In addition to their own line on Q they also provide plants to Phillip Watson's and Carolyn Gracie's lines.

I agree that buyers are more inclined to take the time to post complaint reviews but take into consideration the number of years Roberta's has been on Q and how much their offerings have expanded.

If the majority of buyers were unhappy Roberta's would not be on Q for 20+ years.

I hope you will be as happy with your plants as I've been with mine.

@rockyrose1 ..…I have purchased Roberta’s plants in the past and have been very happy with them. Base on many reviews, I’ve noted that most negative posts were indicative of people not reading/following the growing guides which, btw, are very helpful.

The only Roberta's plants I've bought were the plumeria and they did fine. Every photo/illustration you see of any plant in a seed catalog or plant catalog is a "best case" scenario of what they hope the plant might look like. It's not what you can typically expect yourself.

Yes, you most likely will regret this purchase.

Re: Am I Going to Regret This? re: Roberta's

I got DOA plants.  The following year they sent me something that looked exactly like weeds that grow in my yard and it wasn't even for the conditions I bought the first plant for.

I did not write a review but I'll never order from Roberta's again.  I buy mail order plants all the time and have never received a DOA plant.

I will never order plants from qvc or hsn again.

Their warranty is terrible because none of my plants came back the second year and by then it's too late to get your money back. They didn't perform the first year either like they should have.

I plan to go back to the local nursery.

Yes you will regret.  The samples are grown in a greenhouse.  Never had a plant from the tv grow.
