Personally I think the only people who look good in wide pants are tall and thin.

Personally .... I like wide leg pants.  I've been wearing them for years. *

I'm 5'5" tall, and have a short rise / long torso / narrow body / wide shoulders.  No curves at all.   Whenever I see them on sale, I buy a couple of pairs.  I would guess that about 1/2 of my pants wardrobe are wide leg.

* (It was in the mid/late 60s when I started wearing them.  I recall the first pair I made.)

I don't actually know if I look good in wider pants (and frankly don't care) or not but I have thick thighs with no curves from the waste down so I've appreciated the fact that I'm able to buy jeans and dress pants again without having to try on 57 billion pairs and sometimes settling and buying a pair that doesn't fit the best anyway.  I've even ordered online at various places without trying them on first and that has been a HUGE timesaver!!!!

I like the wide leg look and feel far better than skinny.

Love wearing them!

Never been a fan of wide leg pants. At one time of my life I weighed 254# and a type 2 diabetic and my pants were truly wide leg !  Now after having a repeat right knee replacement due to an infection with surgery during Covid I had a wake up call. I have made massive changes in my diet, I now exercise and I'm down to 128, off diabetes meds and loving that I can wear slim leg pants. At 74 I look good and get compliments and I feel so much better !!  Woman Very HappyWoman LOL  For those who like the wide leg pant, no judgement here, enjoy the look. I'm loving my new slim look! Woman Happy

That is so wonderful.  Sometimes bad things bring about the best and I think it did for you.  Congratulations. That took a lot of determination and work to achieve this.

I love wide leg pants that are flowy and drape well.
I don't like the wide leg cropped or ankle pants, personally I just don't think they're flattering. I wear skirts and dresses when it's hot out because there are so much cooler. So if I have to wear pants, I wear wide leg with thin fabric, like guaze or rayon blend.

@We rescue cats  At my tallest, I was 5' 1/2" tall. Now, I'm only

4'10" Smiley Sad, so wide leg pants would not be a good

                            look. I like straight leg

I think that someone tall and rather slim could

                             wear wide leg pants well.

In summer, I think that dresses are the coolest

                             thing to wear.

@Enufstuff   I lost an inch and now 4'11" on my medical charts. Wide leg pants look weird on me and cropped or capri pants rarely hit in the right spot on my leg. I wear ankle pants which are full length on me in linen and lightweight jean fabrics. I'm passed the shorts age. Lol
