@Pook

The classics are just that for a reason .... they are foundations for many wardrobes, and, depending how you need to dress for work, are good choices for "investment dressing".

Fashion is cyclical .....   always has been.   Fads are fine, but they come and go.  Of course, occasionally someone comes up with something a little different, (torn jeans or sharkbite hems?) but then those looks can end up being cyclical, too.

A friend wore a cold shoulder top to a gathering yesterday.  It looked fab on her.  She made it herself - a very creative use of a border print!

@Tinkrbl44  My point was obviously missed!  While classic styles may be foundations for many wardrobes - they are not for me and many others!  Some (like me) do not like and do not wear the "classics" and want more interesting clothing.  That's why I keep saying that everyone has choices and if a certain style is not to anyone's liking then they are able to choose what they do like and all these posts started are ridiculous.  Some act like there are no choices and they feel a need to  start posts like this inferring that those who choose to wear and like the styles they don't are shallow and just follow what designers say is in which may be true for some but everyone doesn't have to wear classics to appease the ones who hate certain styles! and proclaim they are trashy, etc!!  I only comment on such posts and would never start a post just to criticize styles that others wear, like and look good in just because I don't like them!!

Have you posted examples of your fashion originality and leadership?

I'd love to see it.

Thanks for that.  I laughed so hard I cried.  Always a good thing.

Is that from a movie?  If so, I must watch it.

@Witchy Woman

I'm happy when I can give someone a good laugh!

I generally DTTB, but, much like the cat who enjoys toying with the mouse, sometimes it can be amusing to poke the troll.   Besides, I haven't had a chance to post the Troll Train in quite a while...I always get a good chuckle out of it, too!

I don't know where that gif originated, but I know when it applies.

Have a great day, WW.

Like any wave in fashion I have observed the good ,bad, and ugly in this one. (IMO of course--just glad we cannot read minds Smiley Happy ) I must say I am surprised with the magnitude . I think like with every garment proper fit is very important.  I have seen some wearers that must not have looked in a mirror at items that are showing in an ill-fitting garment.

I personally will not wear off the shoulder as strapless bras have never worked for me and at my age no. But I think it can be lovely on the right person. I am thinking outdoor activities especially.

As someone mentioned off the shoulder is seen in many old photos and paintings. I do wonder if years from now someone will be looking at  antiquated family selfies and ask " why did Great Aunt Sadie have holes in her sleeves ?"

Being a 'leader' takes charisma.

Besides this thread you started is just another bad trend
