That is so true! I've done that several times and the garment has hung in the closet waiting for that special occasion that never came!

Sometimes it is good to buy things on sale. For example if you need a new Winter coat, or Winter accessories, when they are marked down.

They're marked down already in many stores.

It's good to buy essentials on sale, but not things you don't really need just because they are on sale. I used to be guilty of that, but I'm reformed.

I do also think a classic high quality staple piece that you can wear for many years is a good sale purchase.
