I also agree that it should be the responsibility of the vendor to talk about the fit of the garment -- size up, size down - I don't want to have to guess.
Also this nonsense about "choose your regular qvc size" is just that. I can check the click here measurements (and I know my measurements) and the item I receive will still be incorrectly sized.
I ordered the OTO jacket from LDO and used the click here measurements but based on some of the comments from people who have received it, I may have chosen incorrectly.
Well you know what, I think I'm going to choose to shop elsewhere -- I don't see where this policy actually benefits the customer - it's another example of smoke and mirrors from QVC.
Gina - I buy most of my clothes from Nordstrom. They pay postage both ways. Most of what I buy costs more than QVC, but you don't end up with postage - just more money for the garment itself. You just have to decide what bothers you most.
I never minded when the S&H was separate and higher because I can't buy what I like where the shipping is free.

millieshops, thank you for the suggestion. I don't mind paying the price for items I buy but I feel like I am no longer getting the value for my $ from QVC, so I think shopping elsewhere is the only answer. I can tell that I'll be shopping Talbots and JJill more often.
The same goes for clarks shoes -- if I order from their website, shipping & handling & returns are "free". Now that is probably built into the price but Q is actually doing the same thing by raising the prices on their items to compensate for "lowering" the shipping & handling.
I just took a look on the internet and many of the brands that I have bought from QVC in the past are there to be had, either directly from the vendor's website or from a secondary retailer.
Also, I understand your point about referring to the information on the website, but I don't always want to have to fire up my computer when I'm watching tv.

They were the worst shoes I ever put on! So their idea of comfortable and mine were totally different. It was definitely NOT what I was expecting!
In cases like these.....whose error?
I agree, but that is an issue with ordering without seeing and touching.
Yes. Which is why every other retailer has a generous return policy.
Sometimes I wonder WHY is QVC going out of its way to alienate their customers?

I was going to purchase an item from a home improvement store, the only way to purchase was on line so I could not 'see' the item AND if it did not work I would have to pay a restocking fee....we would not pay a restocking fee and they lost the sale....
I will stop purchasing clothing from QVC unless I am positive it will fit, (which is difficult, nothing is consistent) and I ALWAYS check the click her measurements.... I wanted to purchase a NEW jacket on Saturday, guess what, NO CLICK HERE measurements!!
I think their new policy stinks and am anxious to see what their sales are next year at this time.
What about a beauty product that makes your skin break out or a mascara the burns the eyes, is that my fault?
It's good for my wallet.......I'll go back to shopping at the mall like the good old days.

On 2/3/2015 whezy said:I agree with the OP. Give us more information on the garment, sizing, colors, material and less about your children, family, trips and how "you would like to see this" worn. I don't care about hosts opinions or personal info....at a minimum of $9.95 per garment return, that is a minimum of the original $3 S&H plus the $6.95 return label. They are trying to curtail returns by not refunding ANY of the postage while supposedly doing better on S&H rates. Weigh it out.....they are still high. Buy it locally and don't worry about S&H at all!
Absolutely and at the same time, they are also curtailing purchases! I have often sent items back ill fitting garments and I ordered them by using the "chart measurements". The sizing seems to be very inconsistent from line to line. In the future, I will definitely not be ordering clothing from the Q...

One pair fit perfectly, while I couldnt even get another past the hips. One pair was way too big, and another was still too tight. These were in all different colors and although were labeled the same, were NOT the same size. They would not pay return postage because they didn't deem it as "defective". Thus last year, I only bought 6 things from QVC all year....my shopping is way down from previous years.
I would have absolutely argued that. They are definitely defective when they are all supposed to be the same size and clearly are not.
I just received a Macy's order this afternoon. I ordered Jones New York dress pants in black and navy. Same size, same style number. You would think they came from different planets. Different inseam measurement by 1.5" and one leg was longer than the other in the navy.
I've had this with Talbots recently, too. I buy one or 2 new Charming Cardis every season. Same size, different color. I had to return one of the Cardis last fall because I couldn't even get my arm in the left sleeve. The right sleeve was fine as was the other color.

I totally agree. We should be given all information necessary to place an order which will not result in any inconvenience to customers. We do not need all of the chit chat that goes on instead of providing this necessary information.
I have made complaints in this regard when it comes to items like electronics. Have never seen a good presentation on items like humidifiers. We can see colors on those items. We need a demo on ALL of the features and controls in order to make a determination.
Regarding fashion, I order a LOT. My own situation has made it easier for me if I use USPS/Priority Mail. When taking into consideration the outlandish cost of priority mail when first class not available, together with no S&H savings on multiple fashion items in one order (for those who may not be aware, this discount applied to any fashion item and not only multiples of the same fashion item), and finally add the loss of refund on original S&H, it could cost me well over $20 to purchase something that may not work. It would be possible for me to spend $11 or $12 original shipping; this would not be reduced to $5.50 or $6 on second and subsequent items, and deduction of those fees from my refund on return it would be ridiculous for me to continue this practice. I have had returns, but the BIG money I spend on fashion more than compensated for the returns. Obviously I will look elsewhere for my shopping experience because of this change in policy.

I keep a cheat sheet that lists each vendor, and the garment measurements of what I have purcahsed that fit me PERFECT. Then I compare the new item to those measurements.
For example, Bob Mackie, then I'll have Bust, sweep, length..then when a new item comes up at least I have a comparison point. This has helped me greatly.
Why do your purchases need to be check orders to 'read the measurements first'? Orders are 'in process' at least until midnight- often a few days. You can edit your order that's 'in process' - even cancel it.

On 2/2/2015 kahootz said:What is the new return policy? Haven't heard of it. Also, I have ordered to a "T" from their sizing chart and still the item doesn't fit correctly. I do agree it helps when the host lets you know what size the model is wearing and their height.
I was puzzled by the subject line too- there isn't a new return policy! I think the OP is referring to Q now not refunding the original shipping for returns (unless it's Q's error or the item is defective).
‎02-03-2015 08:56 PM
Well I will be doing less, I can't do check anymore cause they stopped it. So I can't check that way and I would do it so I could wait till my credit card rolled over and not have to pay interest and pay it all off. And some of the pants from QF and not sized right and the same with D & C. Well just go to the stores any more. I need to stop buying things I don't need anyway who needs 20 pairs of pants , etc as they say!
