The problem with the written word is that we don't hear how the words are spoken, inflection, tone of voice, stress on particular words.  It can make a huge difference in the meaning.

Some posters are not pleasant, but for the most part they are.  One must take some of the replys with a grain of salt.  Don't give up.  There are some lovely people on the forums, some who have to add their 2 cents to every topic, and a few who are not really nice at all, just like in the real world.

I wish you an easy recovery and much patience (because I would need a lot of that if I had broken my legs.)

I've been attacked several times here. I just ignore the haters & go on about my business. Sometimes, a lack of info can be misread & misunderstood. I am bad about leaving out details. When posting, I usually put some thought into the post & try to give as much info as possible, when asking for advice.

I have rarely asked questions.( I broke my legs and in a wheelchair for 8 more weeks) My questions are for information and ones experience. It is ashame that it inevitably brings judgement and condemation. I was simply looking for a social outlet and Fun group . The ole adage it only takes one, in this situation is the same snarky, bullying and dreadful trio. Thankyou to all I really enjoy sharing with. Bye bye

@Kimnola  So sorry about your impossible physical limitations. I agree with others that there are more helpful, nice and considerate people here than mean, snarky ones.

That being said, I’ve been “attacked” by the same small group who always pride themselves in having the last word, looking for a way to find fault w/ my posts or are just having a rotten day and want to spread that mean attitude.

I keep a list of those posters near my computer and try not to interact w/ them if remarks are snarky.

Don’t go away. That means “they have won”.

We will always be exposed to hurtful comments throughout our lives.I just choose to not give them any thought especially if they are from anonymous people.I don’t let anyone ruin my day with snarky words ever...my rule that I set for myself.

I hope that you will continue to post and find people that you enjoy chatting with.I also wanted to say that I am sorry that you are having a difficult time with your health...hoping your legs heal quickly and you can get back to yourself soon.

I think perhaps @Kimnola. is overly sensitive, which is understandable considering her condition.  I read the questionable post and saw nothing wrong with it.

@Kachina624, reading through threads like this, I am reminded that we tend to see the same faults in others that we just don't see in ourselves. And posters tend to confuse rude or snarky with a difference of opinion too often.

I'm amazed that some see a type of gang mentality here and actually keep lists. If I ever get to that point, I hope I would realize that either it's time to leave or time to reexamine my minset regarding message boards.

@suzyQ3 @Kachina624  I agree with both of your posts.  How people post and express themselves is very often misread and misunderstood but hey that is life - work through it, learn and cope.  Posting on boards is not exactly life threatening!

However, if you dish it out expect something to come back. If you are very sensitive then maybe posting on forums is not for you.

I have seen a few threads on here where the poster is so 'offended or outraged' they are leaving the boards.......then lots of please don't go messages are posted and then back the poster comes - maybe they just need reassurance - who knows - just my opinion but discussions come with all kinds of opinions we learn to cope and maybe see a different side.

@dulwich   I had a boss once who told me to never try to talk someone out of leaving.  I've found that to be excellent advice.   If someone is a PIA, I'm not going to try to pump them up and tell them they're wonderful so they won't leave.   If they leave, so be it.

@Kachina624   I so agree with your Boss's comment.
