I think it started as a trend because of the First Lady. Remember Nancy Reagan made red suits popular, and Hilary Clinton made pant suits and headbands popular. Well, Michelle Obama likes sleeveless dresses so now those are popular. It's just a theory of mine. I assume that market studies about purchasing power and demographics show that in general these sell, otherwise we wouldn't have had to put up with it for so long, and this trend has been going on now for like 5 years. Let's hope it is over soon!
