Why follow the crowd? Where's the fun in that? Go rogue and wear something NOT black. It's a wedding not a funeral.

But if that doesn't matter to you - and it seems it doesn't - then #2.
@151949 Where are there guidelines for types of clothing for specific ages? I didn't receive that memo!
@I am still oxox #2 would be perfect for this wedding and venue. Strut your stuff!

@I am still oxox They are both nice. I like the off the shoulder more. Off the shoulder is a big look this year.

I like #2. I am also 63, and I would wear that in a heartbeat if it fit well and I felt good in it. As far as showing too much skin, it's your shoulders. It's not like your rear end is hanging out. Of course you could always go with a nice floral house coat and rolled down stockings. Isn't that what 63 year olds wore when we were kids?

Ha Ha,NancyE. Yes, off the shoulder is in, but skin does look old no matter how much you weigh. It looks old & not a good look. None is saying wear a floral house dress, but come on, don't try to look 30 when you are 60 years old. We all can see you are not 30.

@I am still oxox Don't let anyone shake your confidence. Life's too short. If the dress isn't for someone else here, fine you don't have to wear it. No need to project that onto her though.

Uhoh, someone in her LATE 60's bought and reviewed dress #2 on the Dress Barn web site

@NEvans2 @ahoymate @camelot @I am still oxox My mom had and I still have lovely skin well past age 63, especially on the shoulders. Shoulders don't age . . . unless your posture is horrible. Is it so difficult to fathom women enjoying life and maintaining their figures, attractive appearance, and an active social life well into their late senior years?
At 70, I have trouble understanding people on this Forum and the mindset of "over a certain age." What's with that nonsense? Always makes me wonder what their reputations where in their younger days if they are so judgemental of others posters now. Why so much envy?
You must be living under a rock if you think all of our mothers wore house coats at 63. My mom had lovely silk gowns with matching flowing robes; never floral anything. And I wear similar silk gowns as she did. "You live what you learn." I purchased all of her clothes the last several years of her life as a dementia patient; she never wore a house coat. She died at 94 still dressing in clean slacks, a blouse and a cardigan or jacket every day (even in skilled care). Where do you get this stuff?
Please be happy for another poster who has worked hard to shed weight, found a sexy LBD and is going to a flaunt her stuff at a NYC formal wedding. BTW: I did the same thing earlier this spring in FL in a navy floor length fitted gown at my niece's formal wedding. I showed a little cleavage.<gasp!> Had a grand time dancing the night away!
Hopefully, oxox has a fabulous time at the wedding she plans to attend. We only live once. Make it a productive life, well lived and replete.

Its my shoulders for lords sake, not a navel deep cleavage, I will say again there is illusion mesh that keeps the dress place, it is actually pretty modest.
Dress my age, sheesh, take a look at my photo and then say dress my age
Ladies it was a opinion I asked for not a judgement.
The women here are so quick to tear each other day its amazing, woman need to boost each other up not what has been done here by some of the posters. Maybe is is jealousy but it is sure not NICE
