I have long feet but not wide ankles. Darn Tough and Smartwool offer sizes. If you can find them, Gold Toe Plus and Elisabeth socks are good. Look for diabetic socks as they are intentionally wide around the ankle. You can also buy socks from the men's dept.
Not directly related to OP’s question but someone mentioned Legacy. Use to buy their wide calf compression socks here on Q, have not seen them in a long time and wondered if they went out of business.
Also you can search for "bariatric" socks, not as in bariatric surgery but they're socks sometimes worn by diabetics and they're a wider, easier cut, less elastic y. My mother bought them on Amazon.
@newjersey --- I have been looking for socks I can wear , as I broke my ankle and have to wear a huge transformer boot for the next few weeks--dr wrapped up my foot/ankle and calf with an ace bandage but it doesn't keep my toes or foot warm enough and I need some soft cushioning inside this monster thing--well I did google diabetic socks and found exactly what I needed-- a knee high sock that is for edema, lymphedema, swollen feet or even over a cast. It is black, stretches like crazy, no seams except on the toe and the seam is on the outside. It is polyseter, cotton and elastle. Feels really nice and keeps my stupid leg warm. Comes 2 pairs in package for $17.99 from AMZ--the brand name is Bulinlulu.
