More than once when making a comment I get a red note under the message box that I have violated the html when I hit send. I then hit send again and my post appears (unchanged). What is happening? Thanks!

ECBG - if you look above the text box when you reply to a post you will see Rich Text (commonly the default message format). I've encountered what you describe when posting pics. Something in the text box contains HTML which is not compatible with Rich Text, so the software here removes the HTML.

Yep, and it's harmless. It may happen more often when you copy and paste something because the HTML code comes with things you copy and paste. The system corrects it and let's you know because it technically changed something, but unless you know HTML code, you won't notice. It does this in part to prevent copied items from bringing over strange formatting that negatively affect the forum look.

I also keep getting this message. I don't copy or send pictures so I am at a loss as to what it means. What does HTML mean?

It happened to me today when I copied a quote. Since I could click through the message, I didn't give it too much thought.

Henny,
HyperText Markup Language, commonly referred to as HTML, is the standard markup language used to create web pages.
I think there might be a few bugs in the programming here. Nothing I would consider security related, just the occasional burp.
Earlier, I signed out of the forums and was presented with a pink page about my action not be allowed and to foward to the administrator.
I closed the page, then reopened it and signed out as usual.
I know folks have experienced the HTML message with and without pics. I think this forum continues to be a work in progress.

Thanks lades! Just a nod to the "idiots" that changed these formats! That' s just another example that they have not a clue!

Hi Bernie, thank you!
I am really not up on all of the computer lingo. I kept feeling that I was doing something not allowed or that something was wrong with my computer.

ECBG:
programmers are human like you and so do make mistakes. Hopefully when you do your family, friends, coworkers etal "forgive you" and don't think less of you. So........
Just a thought.....
