Re: What Color Does Not Look Good On You?

As a redhead, no yellow, orange, or coral.

Re: What Color Does Not Look Good On You?

One shockingly awful color: Almost neon/ lime bright green looks wonderful on me.  I have very green eyes maybe that helps, and somehow I look good in that.  I always get compliments and I want to say REALLY? Woman Embarassed

I can't wear any warm colors- red, yellow, orange, green, brown. Pink and lavender are toss ups. I have fair skin, blue eyes, brown hair. I stick to blue, black, gray.

Me too!

However, I think I look awful in Brown and Pastels - I prefer bright and bold colors - They make me feel happy. Heart

@LavernLuvsShoes  - It depends on the tone of red.

I bought a Susan Graver top a few years ago. It's so comfortable, but it's a blue-toned red and it doesn't look great on me or on most "warm" people. I look better in a warm-toned red. I have a lot of that color. And I love red too!

When Carolyn Gracie hosted with Denim & Co. she and Gary would talk about the tones once in a while. That was really helpful, and I wish more hosts and vendors did this.  Smiley Frustrated

@I am still oxox   Same for me unless the green is a blue green. I also look HORRIBLE in pastels.

Re: What Color Does Not Look Good On You?

I love this topic!

As someone who had her season colors "done" in the mid 1980's, I was told I should go with cool tones.  Specifically, I'm a Summer.  (Before all the variations existed of each season, by the way.)

Not surprisingly, any warm tones that are deep make me look horrible.  I can sometimes get away with pastel versions of warm tones, such as light peach, but any colors like brown, olive, orange, rust...NO!

It's funny though...I love those colors and my home has been decorated with them!  lol

Re: What Color Does Not Look Good On You?

warm colors,  I am olive complicated like Amy , green eyes

I look best in  warms....corals, warm pinks, bright white and also ivory, turquoise , chartreuse even.    I dont look good in most blues if they are cool which most are.  And red  looks awful unless it is a blue red,  but do t own any clothing g in red.    Blacks look good on me with the right makeup and when hair is highlighted especially .

I can wear either gold or silver jewlery .     Was told by a colorist once with  my coloring I can do either most are one or the other and you know if you are a yellow gold or white gold lady.   It goes by the color of your veins .   If you have  more green you are gold, more blue silver.   Mine are a combo of both.

Re: What Color Does Not Look Good On You?

Another light-medium neutral here with medium blonde hair that's also highlighted.  I wear all kinds of colors; jewel tones, brights, pastels, neutrals, black, a little white.  I avoid weird greens like avocado and golds.  I live in the Midwest so I follow the seasonal color guidelines mostly, but some colors are worn year round as well.
