Yes @Greeneyedlady21. I measured it twice with my tape measure because I was a little shocked myself at the sizing. Just note that the rise is not up high so that measurment would be a little larger than a one taken for a pant that was at the waistline because they sit slightly below the belly button.

I just measured the waist of my size 8’s and they are 32 in.  I measured the waist while the pants were lying flat and then doubled it.  I mostly wear size 8 pants but do have some in 6 and some in 10.  I carry any excess weight in my tummy not on my hips or thighs.  

Hope this will help anyone trying to determine their size.

How odd that your size 4 and my size 8 have the same size waist!  Wonder if they mis-labeled some sizes?

I measured the size 4 jeans with a dressmaker's tape measure by going all the way around the inside of the waistband. @Greeneyedlady21 @4kitties

I wish my store had these but they don't.  No store in my area does.  If I order them today I could pick them up from the store on the 12th. 

The service desk in my local store can be a real nightmare.  Picking up an on-line order is fine but if you have to return something, you could be there for 30 minutes waiting in line.
