Hi fashion friends.
These two thrifted jackets were the last wool pieces I thrifted before I put a halt to buying any more wool. They were thrifted in December, and should be the last wool pieces I'll ever need (unless, of course, I need a replacement🤣).
I have seven wool sweaters and jackets that I love. We have a handful of (sort of) winter temperatures in our neck of the woods. In January, we had about six-seven days (which is about normal) with temps that would require wool. Even if we normally had 14 days of daytime temps hovering around freezing, seven tops would be more than enough. Heck, make it 21 days (😱native North Carolinians would freak out if that happened)! Seven pieces would still be enough. I'm a fashionista, but it's not beneath me to wear something three times in 20 days.
#1
This one has only a brand tag on it...Maroon...which I couldn't find in a google search. I'm 99.9% sure it's boiled wool. Super soft. Hand washed, blocked, dry flat on towel. I can't decide if this color is dusty blue or bluish lavender. Put it next to blue, and you'd call it lavender. Whatever...it definitely works with black...
#2
Also works with a heavy base layer and AYR striped 3/4 sleeve tee. AYR called this white and lavender. It's a perfect match🤷♀️. More often than not, I'd wear my gray-ish taupe suede ankle boots, but, depending on temp/conditions, sneaks (and socks) work, too. I think sneaks make it look more casual. Thrifted Vera Bradley quilted bag...
E-thrifted silk scarf...
#3
E-thrifted Eileen Fisher felted wool jacket. I think it has moto vibes (for lack of a better word). It's a pinky-red (🤬I'm sick of trying to describe weird colors). With a light gray Theory cashmere sweater, one of the oldest cashmere sweaters in my closet...about seven years old...still looks like the day I bought it at the Rack.
#4
I can actually button it!
With a heavy base layer and AYR long sleeve red and white tee.
In a week or so, I'll store all my wool and a few heavyweight cashmere pieces. My lightweight cashmere will get stored by the end of April.
Fallsort-of-winterspring season, which henceforth (🤓) I shall call The Rollercoaster Season, aka our second of two seasons😁, is rollercoastering from cool to warm temps. The worst is behind us and, for us, summer is right around the corner!
Have a great week, ladies.

Both jackets are lovely especially the "pinky-red" one. It looks warm and comfortable and I like the length and fit. I would think the number of jackets and sweaters would be enough to get you through the season. Thanks for the fashion show as always!!

Impeccable as always !

Looking great, as always! Both of those jackets are great finds! I know what you mean about our rollercoaster seasons here in NC; dressing can be a challenge when you have 3 seasons in one day! ![]()

Hello, @MacDuFF It's starting to warm up a bit here in Jersey so I put away my very warm sweaters until next winter.
The darker wash jeans you're wearing in the #2 & 3 outfits looks nice on you. I also like both jackets, but think having a closure on the first one would make it more versatile. (If it gets cooler you could close it for warmth, or make the jacket dressier if it had buttons.)
Have a great day.

All are great looks but I'm kinda partial to your third picture with the striped purse and boots.
We're in the midst of our roller coaster season too. Last week we had highs near 80 for a couple of days and then yesterday evening we had snow flurries to the point there was a very light dusting this morning when I got up.

Nice jackets and outfits!
Alas, I can't wear wool of any kind. Makes me itch terribly and irritates my skin. I wish I could wear wool because I love sweaters and jackets.
Someone told me expensive merino wool & cashmere wouldn't do that. I tried on a piece of each at an upscale department store several years ago. One arm in one sleeve is as far as I got. Had to get my arm out asap. 🥴
Have a Wonderful Week!

@MacDuFF I especially love your dusty blue jacket! It look fab with black! Alas, I too am allergic to wool so it is never a part of my wardrobe.
LOVE the silk scarf too!

All excellently styled!
So good to see a jacket that actually buttons properly and hangs well. Not too tight, etc.
Have a wonderful, comfortable week.
Everybody, including pets and outdoor wildlife.
