@tototwo, I agree. I do think it also helps to fit a wider variety of calfs though. I'm one of those who probably needs to go with the wide calf, but I don't like the looks of them. I swear, my legs have not gotten bigger, but I now can't wear regular boots when I used to be able to. I will say, the host who was on at midnight has such skinny legs that you could actually see the elastic at the top of the boot on her leg. Not a good look to me.
I feel the same way about pull-on pants that pretend to have a zipper. Cheap looking.
