I was cleaning out my closet, found an old pair of Soft Surrounding jeans in size 14. I’m generally a 12 130 5’5”. So I put them on and they fit like a glove with not an inch to spare in the waist. Wow. Anyone else find something in your closet in an old sizing ?

I have a medium Ralph Lauren vintage Christmas sweater that fits perfectly - current mediums are too large.

Size 10 in the 1960s was like today's size 4. My daughter tried on an old suit of mine from the late 60s and was astounded! We finally gave the suit away.

Definitely vanity sizing today!

I have gotten rid of most of my older things.  However I did save a pair of Landlubber jeans from the mid 1970s.  They are a size 4 and there is no way I can get into them today.  I now wear a ten or SP (the pull on kind) here.

Wow...I'm impressed you still had a pair...Landlubber jeans were my jam back in high school in the 70's! Loved them. Started with the standard hip hugging bell bottoms, with those front slit pockets. Then a few years later, higher waist, larger "elephant bells" (they used to call them) came in style, with big cuffs at the bottom, same front slit pockets! Wore those just skimming the ground with my platform Corkease sandals, or my high heeled platform clogs!

I'm a "size 4" today, in most brands. I think only Banana Republic runs small, (or normal) but haven't bought those in a while, I think I'd be a 6 in theirs now. Chicos, Logo, Jag, Liverpool, Loft...all jeans I have now in size 4, but everything runs roomier now.

In high school those Landlubber jeans were junior sizing... Sizes 3, 5, 7 etc.

Those high waist ones I'd never get into today...my waist was probably 20" then! Teeny, tiny, 95 lb petite. Ha. Well, that was then, this is now! 🤷‍♀️👖

Oh, I loved my Landlubber jeans, along with Jordache and Sasson.  But my favorites were Peanuts, if anyone remembers them.  They came in so many colors, too.  👖👖👖

@amyb I kept them because they were sentimental for me.  I wore them when I met DH!

I have no vanity sizes anymore--got rid of all that a few years ago when I decided to feel comfy in any size in any brand as long as it fits nicely and looks good. Am so over all that now. My shoes are the same size--in a 8m so don't have to worry about those.

Seems like there's a lot of size 2/4, xxs, xs on these forums.  I'm developing a complex!!!!
