Well------I wouldn't , on purpose, spend that amount on a blouse---but am not at all surprised at the cost----don't think it is stupid tho---I think the price of eggs is stupid!!!!

Well, it depends on many things .... your income, the occasion, and (probably) how often you'll wear it.

Right now, in my closet, I have a couple pima cotton tee shirts I bought at Walmart (yes, pima cotton at Walmart) for $5 each. I wear them a lot, at home. I wouldn't wear them out.

Right now, I also have a couple silk satin blouses I purchased at Neiman Marcus to color match to two wool-gabardine suits. I don't wear them as frequently, but they were worth every penny of the $225 each I paid for them.

BTW, I try to be specific when discussing fashion.

Whether it's a blouse, caftan, tee shirt, polo shirt, tailored shirt ... etc etc ... be specific. What the heck is a "top"?

I agree with being specific. The price of $60 to $70 for a well tailored blouse is the average. People want quality in their clothing but do not want to spend the money.

Lzzkehouse granny , you are so right. These comments are ridiculous. there are soo many beautiful clothing choices available for appropriate prices and good quality. I would be stupid to support designs that are easily over priced. I buy what I want but my money can go to real needs of others.

I will take a guess that the OP was referring to prices here at the Q, I will agree with her on that. I will pay for quality. From my experience shopping here, the quality does not warrant the prices. That is my opinion, that opinion is just as valid as anyone else's and I stand by it. Just love how so many will jump right on a new poster with their own vast wisdom, lol. Remember, you were also a new poster at some point, I'm betting you were not greeted in the same manner.

If the OP wouldn't have said it is stupid there wouldn't be such a strong response. It is possible to state an opinion without insulting other people. As far as not being greeted in the same manner the first time I posted on this board another poster snapped at me with her response. A person must have a thick skin to be on these boards.

@Lakehouse granny Welcome to the forums and sorry for the ones who jumped on you before you got replies from others who were more cordial. Not a great way to feel accepted, right?

I don't purchase from Q anymore after being a customer from the start. I like sales and discounts from stores and sites I've frequented for many years. BTW, prices are very high everywhere and I decide how badly I want something expensive.
