You’re right. We don’t see toile much on clothing. 

I like it best on the jackets, scarves, and sneakers. I don’t wear scarves, but I would try on the second jacket with the floral print and those bright blue lace up Keds sneakers.

• I had a jacket very similar to that in a black on white toile print in a twill fabric.  I think when I retired in 2010 - it was in the batch of clothes that I donated.
