Re: This shipping decrease will definitely work for QVC since they increased prices to cover it.

Exactly Kathleen! And to answer your question Chiclet about how stupid they think we are? Very!

I'll paste what I said on another thread because I'm JUST that annoyed about it all: The Q gave us $3 s&h and they think we are all too thrilled with seeing only a $3 s&h after we've been complaining for MONTHS about their outrageous shipping charges..... that we will never notice they HIKED UP most of their products!

One case in point which is HIGHLY disturbing: that Judith Ripka princess-cut tennis bracelet. The 7 1/4 size went from $342 just a month or two ago.... to $396!!!!!! How do I know? I purchased it at the $342 price and sent it back. So when I was going through jewelry and that came up, I saw the price and thought for SURE I was mistaken thinking it was much less! I checked my records and SURE ENOUGH..... that is over $50 in two months.... on OLD merchandise???

So they are counting on people looking at the s&h thinking they got a real deal because "finally the Q listened to us and reduced their outrageous s&h charges" and they think the sale will be made!

If they take it from one place, they have to get it back, plus some, from another!

What they did was play a shell game.

The course they've taken—raising prices by the exact amount to cover the "reduced" shipping charge AND rescinding the refund of original s/h— is clearly not what so many expected of a company they've always trusted to give them a fair deal. It's also regressive, counter-intuitive in terms of their competition, and consumer-unfriendly.

I know it's changed my perception of QVC, a company I once admired.

Well said! thank you for putting it into words.

Every company has their sales gimmick. This is theirs. Smart shopping is the answer. With so many retailers, it's really not that difficult. Honestly, it's best to not get caught up in the sales hype with tv shopping. Just because they offer a great price on an item every so often, doesn't mean everything they sell is a great price.

I've been shopping the Q since 2003, and I've bought many things that really were a great price. Not in the past couple of years, though. I watched S.Graver this eve. @ l0 PM. She offered her cute quilted, hooded jacket @ $68. and change, and this was with a l0% discount. Now, who would buy a coat in the middle of Feb. with a l0% discount. This jacket will be back, again, again and again. Before the Q ships it off to the outlimit retail, they'll offer free S&H. Is it really fair to the Q customer who buys a great deal, for the Q to not decently discount to their loyal customer, instead of selling it to other retail where others get the real discounts? I don't think so.

QVC has never been competitive and they don't intend to be....I only buy things that I can't get elsewhere and that is less and less. They count on convenience, not price,to get customers
