Google - "frumpy images."

Great suggestion @ALRATIBA .

I bought a dress from Vermont Country Store and I think it will definitely be returned...

I have never seen it used to describe a man's appearance.

Re: The term “frumpy”....

On the Q over years I have seem a shift in sizing.

The pattern makers seem to have shifted to a large size.  You can't just shrink a 1X to a 2 without other adjustments.  That is why the tees are baggy.

They have also gone to a cheaper elastic waist.  Again to favor larger sizes who may not wish a definite waist.

There is a retro nostalgic element too.  If you wore it before, just don't wear it again.

Need to pick carefully.

The opposite of frumpy is fashionable.

Re: The term “frumpy”....

I prefer the term "frump-a-dump" and also conveys a sense of slovenliness to me which by and large I don't think QVC is generally that but many of the clothes look matronly to me which might be associated with the age in which a woman becomes "handsome".

it's subjective, it's just one person's opinion.  Not even worth thinking about.  I do think many women on this board go out of their way to criticize the merchandise QVC sells and the things that other women buy. They just like being negative.

@chrystaltree @I don't like being negative, but facts are facts. I've seen and bought D&Co clothing from the beginning, and the line , while never cutting edge fashion, was far more attractive than it is now. This doesn't make me happy, because it was a line where I could usually find something nice. Don't assume because someone doesn't care for a line that they embrace negativity.

Re: The term “frumpy”....

Well...I Googled "frumpy"...have to say a whole host of looks, both young and old come up...then this. I think we can all agree on this one. There were a few very sad "mom jeans" looks too. We may not all agree on how to describe it...but I think most of us know when we see it, or feel it on ourselves.
