Re: The term “frumpy”....

Frumpy applies more to the individual than it does to the style. I think hosts like Courtney, Amy, Shaun, Sandra and a few others could pull off the most frumpy outfit and have it look fashionable, unlike Carolyn, Mary-Beth, Jane B., who always appear frumpy to me by nature (sorry). Some people are just not fashionistas, and that's okay.

Courtney, Amy, Shaun and Sandra aren't older women. Carolyn, Mary Beth and Jane B are women of a certain age. I have always thought we are much harder on older women when the term frumpy is applied to them.

@Secretariat1

are you serious?? The way Shawn has been dressing the last few months is the epitome of 'frumpy'! Certainly by my definition!

And who is this Jane B you speak of?

@Buffalogal47  This is that same gal in her after picture.  She is a special ed teacher. I got this off the Oprah website..The article was called "Giving Up The Frump".  What a difference!

To me, this isn't 'giving up the frump' - it's just renaming it Shapeless Beige.  I'd wear the jacket and possbily the scarf, but nothing else.  Hair & makeup look great, along with the beautiful smile.

I agree with you re Shaun, however I would characterize her style as funky not frumpy....
