I was at Talbots just now. They had the preview for card holders. I was disappointed. I was looking for some pants, and I saw quite a few online. The selection they had in the store was not great, and the fit was off. I have some Talbot pants that I bought last year that are Hampshire, and they are size 8. They are a little snug but they still fit. I tried on the size 10 in the Hampshires and they are too tight! I really didn’t have much time so I didn’t have time to go back and get another size. Same thing with the other pants I tried on they were all too tight even though they’re a size larger than ones in my closet that currently fit.

I guess I’ll take a closer look online, but now I’m really confused about sizing, and honestly, quality. Hope everyone else is having better luck.

They have been having some good sales but I cannot find anything I want or need.

I let my $25.00 gift expire as I could not find one thing I wanted to buy. 😩😩

Oh, no!!!   You could have bought "something" to put in your Gift Closet.

You know, the closet that QVC thinks we all have....  lol.

I just got another catalog from them.  Hopefully I will be in control, I brought a lot from them on sale, the quality, fit and the colors are gorgeous.

I went back to Talbots today. I tried on the bigger sizes and got two pairs of pants. However, some of the pants just didn’t work because I think they’ve made them tighter through the hips, but when I went up a size, they were huge in the waist. I don’t have nearly enough of a waist to buy clothes at stores like Ann Taylor, but I guess I have more of a waist than the average Talbots customer?

I was so disappointed when I checked out, because she said they didn’t have any more of the totes that you get when you spend $150 or more. She said they give them out each day and they only last about an hour. I think that’s rotten. They should have a rain check or something if you’re coming fairly early in the day! It’s sort of made me feel like I got ripped off when it’s just a marketing promotion and nothing that was owed to me. But, it sort of felt like bait and switch.

Both times Talbots has been super busy. The weird thing is this Talbots closes at 5 PM, and they clearly are getting enough business staying open only till only five.

@GoodyShoes…thats disappointing to hear about your tote story. I wouldn’t be happy either. For the amount of money u spent in there, (it sounds like 2 prs of pants for over $150) , then you should have gotten something!

@GoodyShoes thanks for sharing your story. The sizing thing makes me concerned. Buying online is complicated enough w/o having to guess when you've worn a particular size before that still fits and find out you have to completely change sizes.

Oh Ladies, I just donated several Talbot's items. They were "Work Clothes" and since I am retired, I doubt I will ever wear them again. Sorry to see them go but my closet is stuffed.

I can't buy anymore clothing. Until, I forget about my last donation load.

And when I hear Talbot's I will never forget an incident. I was meeting my friends for lunch. I pulled out of my development to go to the restaurant. About 30 seconds later a lady appeared on my bumper. She obviously was in a huge hurry. It was 6 miles down the road until I got to the restaurant. She was on my bumper the entire time.

I pulled into the parking lot for the restaurant. She followed me. HUH? WELL, Talbots shared the same parking lot. She parks her car and ran into Talbots. Two of my friends saw her in action and we all decided that we would have to check out the Talbots sale after lunch.
