They can tell by the response to the exposure in the Insider and to the email when it is going to sell out. By then it's way too late to get more in. These are planned for and purchased many months in advance. No games, they aren't deliberately trying to upset customers.

If I were still working, I'd have ordered those pearls when the email arrived. There are never enough private reserves to satisfy. Price is secondary. I just can't justify any more pearls that are too dressy to wear to shop Costco or Publix.

Lots of pretty pearls today so far today and some shapes and colors I actually don't already have in my way too large pearl collection.

I didn't hear them say how many they started with but at about 12.15 ... when the 18"" was already gone ... the host said there were only 500 left in the 20"".

So maybe a couple to a few thousand in total?
