Re: TSV - What is it with the toe of this boot?

I was interested in ordering the navy but do not like that they are not all navy. Only the suede is navy, the leather is a different color, the same with the gray.

I thought they were saying that the gray boot had taupe/mushroom colored leather when it was presented at midnight. Did I imagine that?

I saw the presentation last night, and the gray looked so brown on tv that I immediately went to my computer to check them out on my laptop. The suede looked gray and the leather brown. I don't know why they mixed the "media" anyway. I am passing. I like gray that looks like gray.

No, not your imagination. That is what they said. I like the gray best & that is why.

I'm okay with the look of the toe. I like the overall shape of the boot, but I don't like the two-tone look. Except for the black, the other choices all look mismatched to me.

Me, too. All gray please. And I personally would rely more on a review from someone who already owns it vs. someone who's trying to sell it. But that's just me.

I guess it's meant to put you in an elfin, sprightly mood.

Not for me!

Re: TSV - What is it with the toe of this boot?

I definitely think this grey does not look grey. It's more of a dirty brown-grey which isn't good if you want a "true grey". I thought it was just a color issue with my monitor or how the color was coming across in the photo. I'm glad I am not crazy and the grey really isn't grey and I am not seeing things and others see it too!

I like the boot and it's very cute but I am not purchasing. I do understand about the concern about the "turned up" toe thing, I have noticed that with many brands and styles and I don't care for it at all. However with this boot it seems to be less pronounced than with some others I've seen. I wouldn't let that stop me from trying it out, if I really wanted it. It may look really different, once you put it on.

The gray is sold out anyway, but I wouldn't rely on one reviewer's color description. No mention was made of the gray being two-toned during sales presentations, so it could be that early purchaser's eyes saw taupe where others would say that's gray. I realize I'm splitting hairs, but just trying to be objective.

The boots aren't wowing me, but I do think they are cute for to wear with a casual outfit. I am looking for an inexpensive ankle/low heeled boot to add to my walking boots wardrobe, so I might purchase for that reason. The navy is appealing to me most because it's such an unusual color to see offered in boots.

Trix, you are correct that we shouldn't rely on one review. But the TSV banner on QVC's main page sure looks like the navy suede is paired with dark brown leather. I think the one in the foreground is the gray with light brown leather.

These really are a cute boot - maybe I shouldn't judge on the other pair I tried, but I just didn't like that turned up toe...but that's just me.

On the subject of color, I did see one presentation where they specifically said that the gray suede had a "taupey" color leather. The rep also said that the navy was coming across as purplish leather, but that the leather was definitely blue. I tried a Clark's boot last year that was supposed to be gray but it was a cross between gray and taupe - although it was all one color, and I actually liked it. Sometimes I wish I'd kept it, but I was looking for a true gray.

Hope this helps on the color questions...Smile
