For me it depends on the trapeze top.

Some of them are cut closer to the body and those I'm fine with on me.  But some have a lot of excess, flowy fabric that sits right on the hips then cuts up in the front and the back.  I'm a pear shape and I just don't need that excess fabric sitting on each hip nor does it do my body any favors to have it cut up at the rear end like that either.

I like that hem type for some items. And I really don't give a flying flip what someone thinks other people should wear, especially as it relates to size or body type.

just about any style looks nice when they are properly fitted and tailored to one's own body . At times that is hard to attain when there are such varied styles . Personally I like softly rounded (a smile) hems and I like longish tunics.

I have noticed through the years that when fads are about to die they start getting exaggerated to the extreme sometimes. I recall the extended shoulders of the (80's ?) It started as nice small /tailored pads that looked attractive and by it's demise like football players !Smiley Happy

Lately I have noticed SO MUCH FABRIC by some designers that to me it looks real hot and awkward although not true of all. I watched a bit of Anthony's on HSN yesterday and some were nice , but a cpl. looked like a bolt of fabric was wrapped around a model then cut at various levels.
