@San Antonio Gal  You should check out some of SG reviews on her poly items. Apparantly at one time the liquid knit as example, were good, but now they have become as described, "hot, thin, and clingy." She wouldn't be the first or last to start with quality and then later cut it back.

That being said, I will take natural fibers like cotton for the softness and comfort alone, but that's just me. I also really like Lyocell for it's movement, lightness, and softness. It's considered semi-synthetic. And this is what I found is said of cotton, "Natural breathability, skin friendly softness, durable, absorbant, and hypoallergenic."

I've purchased her items here and there over the years and I find them to be excellent quality. She knows how to fit a pant and I like that she offers talls too.

I hate 100% cotton as I hate to iron.

@FranandZoe  Ummm... yes, it is just your opinion. And I have mine. We will agree to disagree, and leave it at that. This is after all a forum that welcomes any and all opinions. No need to take it personally, happy you like her clothes, not everyone will, and that's a-ok.

@KittySoftPaws   Umm lol?  Not taking it "personally" whatsoever.

@KittySoftPaws and @San Antonio Gal .

I do understand how many people like the 100% cotton and for those reasons you mentioned. However, in addition to your research it is also added "If you dislike 100% cotton, you likely find it too rigid, prone to shrinking, wrinkling, or holding onto moisture. Fortunately, switching to fabrics with specific blends (like a poly blend), weaves, or treatments can instantly solve these issues".

I too find 100% cotton to be too rigid and holds moisture. We live in a humid climate and I just don't like the way cotton does not dry. Plus, usually they are too heavy.

With all that said, it really is a personal preference.

It depends on what I'm doing, where I'm going and the local temperature.  I wouldn't wear liquid knit on a hot humid day, take it on a tropical vacation or even to the shore.  I prefer a cool comfortable cotton or linen blend.

However liquid knit to me has its place.  I just came back from a trip to Alaska and it was pretty cool every day.  I brought many liquid knit type of tops along with a cardigan just to walk around the ship and I didn't look like a rumpled mess.  Sure there are irons on board but I'm on vacation and don't want to do ironing.

I don't think $150 is out of line for a 2 piece outfit, especially if the quality is good, and I really like the pieces. I could get multiple wears out of 2 pieces using them as separates. That would bring the cost per wear down. I have spent that much and more on a few things.

don't buy Susan's liquid knit, because most of the prints on those pieces aren't my style. I do have 2 SG jackets. One is ponte and the other is a rayon blend. Both are excellent quality IMO.

Lots of choices out there at various prices.

@Bicher the price of everything is going up and yes, clothes are no exception.

I do agree with other posters who said deals can be found.

I almost never buy anything new and try to wait for sale and clearance prices. I have purchased several items from Susan recently (new) ranging in price from $11 - $21.  I also don't hesitate to buy "as is".

I hope you are able to find things you like for a better, lower price.

Nothing against SG, but IMO her clothes are sub par in quality and 90% of what she sells is indeed hot, thin, 100% polyester fabric. I remember her saying on the air a while back that she would try bringing in other materials like cotton, as people were complaining all she put out was "liquid knit" which is a fancy name for poly. She did, but she still sells mostly poly and charges a lot for it.

It's cheaper for the designer, and then they make more selling it. I think it worked well for her for many years, but now more people demand better quality, and quality materials for those kinds of prices. A good example is Aimee kestenberg's new fashion line. 100% cotton beefy tees, 100% Lyocell jeans with cute details, and much more. I bought many of her pieces.

@KittySoftPaws  Her clothes being sub par is so not ture.  Her blazers for instance are gorgeous.  Pants too.  Great quality and tailoring.  Her ponte blazers and pants especially.

@FranandZoe I recently purchased two blazers from Susan, about $21 each, new. I'm very happy with them!
