I used to love my Stein Mart. I could get a lot of great basics for work there like tailored trousers and nice tops and sweaters. I still go and look a few times a year, but I haven't bought as many things in the last few years. Most of the things my store carries are too trendy for me. I miss the classics and investment items they used to carry. There are still a few pieces like that in the store, but not as many I would like.

We used to have one, but closed. I just did a google search and found them and was surprised at the nice selection. $104 for 8 sweaters and they were Peck and Peck, Joseph S. Really nice fun colors yet basics. No Shipping!!

I love the idea of going to Stein-Mart, but have only purchased a couple of clothing items out of all the times I've been there. Something about the fit. I would never take a chance by ordering online with them.

The fit? It's all different designer companies, the only house brand is Pick a Peck and it's true on.

Peck & Peck was a well known store on New York's 5th Ave. for 100 years. After they closed, Stein Mart bought the rights to the name "Peck & Peck." The SM Peck & Peck brand is found in the Boutique section of the store. With all of this Stein Mart talk, I suddenly feel a need to go shopping! There's a 50% off sale going on today and tomorrow according to the email I received yesterday.{#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

I don't buy much from clearance because by next year I usually don't want it and would like that money to buy something current. The exception would be an item that was SO expensive I needed to wait.

My dad always used to say "It isn't a good buy if you don't need it!"!

My DH loves SteinMart here in PA and in FL: he finds more slacks and shirts than he needs. He can't waste a coupon!!!!! Today I found pillows to be the bargain: buy one clearance and get one free!
