Spring Wedding Mother of the Groom

My son is getting married in IL, in April. This is the first formal wedding I have ever been in since my own. The colors of the wedding are brown/pink. The mother of the bride is wearing either a light brown or silver dress. My question is what color should I choose? I was thinking that a darker pink or a gold color would look good. The bridesmaids are wearing a lighter pink/rose shade.

Any thoughts?
