Spring 2020...New in my closet...

[ Edited ]
This won't be as long as my other closet threads 'cuz I only bought one sweatshirt during lockdown, but it will take me full circle for all seasons of what I have in my closet since the Purge and its aftermath, the curation of a new wardrobe.  Almost 9 weeks with only one purchase is a world class record for me...one that I hope to never repeat hahaha!

Like a lot of us, I quickly found that I had a big hole missing in my closet...comfy casual clothes to wear at home.  Actually, I already knew that...it was glaringly obvious after the Epic Closet Purge of 2017, but I thought I had all the time in the world to fill it in.

I had been working on spring items right before the #HTF.  I was well on my way to finally accepting jackets (which are a difficult fit for me) since I'm not a fan of cardigans...both of which seem necessary for spring and fall.

I was concentrating on filling in another sparse area of my closet, too...in between weather clothes that can be worn in 2 seasons...early spring/late fall (cool weather) and late spring/early fall (warm).  I bought a few things and even got to wear them all a few times when it all came to a screeching halt.

The first pic, however, is for winter (go figure) and is my most recent purchase.

I went to Soft Surroundings on their first day of reopening a few weeks ago.  They had a skeleton staff with only their top sales associates working according to the manager and only one SA working at a time for a fairly large store!!  I watched the cash register for the manager (a long time acquaintance) while she went to the ladies room...no one came in.  Anyway, they had 40% off all regular priced items.

Wouldn't you know it, when I want a true coral for summer, I can never find it.  But this is a pretty and soft pinky (not orange!) coral sweater with 10% wool...thrilled to find a bright, cheerful color to wear in winter.  I love it and believe it's destined to be a favorite.  The 2nd pic is from SS website...shows detail better than I could get...

Re: Spring/Summer 2020...New in my closet...

Coronawear...what I looked like for nine weeks of lockdown.

I managed to grudgingly shower and get dressed every day, but the he!! with make-up, and I felt downright glamorous if I ran my fingers thru my hair to go grocery shopping.  Usually wore a comfy sports bra.

Weirdly, I sometimes wore jewelry, go figure.

My sleep pattern was completely disrupted the first few weeks...once at 4:30AM, I found myself rearranging the qwap stored under our bed...and my anxiety level was thru the roof until I remembered Who I have faith in.

These three outfits are almost exclusively what I wore for nine straight weeks...

First, a comfy medium weight hoodie from Melloday (purchased at Marshall's right before lockdown)...grey/taupe/white tie dye.  Wore with Cuddle Duds base layer or not depending on weather.  (Light grey or charcoal base layer is on my shopping list...will go great with this for fall.)

Wore it to the grocery with AG slim/straight "Harper" jeans purchased online a few days before lockdown.

Sidebar:  I have a different definition of "slim/straight jeans" from the fashion industry's definition!  I think they mean a modified or baby boot cut.  I mean slim and straight...not slightly flared at hem.  These may end up at the tailor to make them straight.  I'm now on the hunt for the elusive cigarette leg jean.

This is how I wore it at home...with black WWC pants and sox.  If I wore it out, I wore sneaks (forgot to change sandals for sneaks).

Old 7 For All Mankind sweatshirt, old jeans, old sox.

The only purchase I made during lockdown...a Tory Burch tie dye sweatshirt (1st pic larger to show detail and accurate hair color, too).   60% off at Nordstrom dotcom in the 1st week of lockdown.  Wore it with different jeans (AG wide legs in pic) and sneaks to go to grocery, and (2nd pic) with white WWC and sox at home.  It has an embroidered heart.  It cheered me up!

@MacDUFF I love the pink sweatshirt and the Tory Burch sweatshirt. I would love to own something from Tory Burch.
