Re: Sorry but QVC is lost without Lisa R......

I think anyone who sees one host as the rise and fall of a company like QVC is seriously "crazy". If companies depended on one person there would be no one in business. People come and go, it is a fact of life. QVC's biggest problem is that they want their customers to feel like part of a big family and the hosts really are there for them, no matter what kind of products they are selling. Even David Markstein (who adds nothing to the presentations) loves to carry on about how hard he works for all of us. What a total Joke! QVC wants to make money, but there approach has been a complete failure. People want good products at reasonable prices that all can use. They want hosts who know the product and can explain in detail. Not all this personal stuff that makes them look ridiculous. Smart shoppers don't buy it. QVC is preying on the lonely, the seriously ill, and even hosts like Shawn and her "religious toned" shows with her jewelry. That is so wrong, I can't even begin to say. But I do believe it is called fleecing the public. They should refresh the hosts staff regularly and those who don't know the QVC product inside and out, should be fired. There isn't one good host in the bunch except Jill Bauer. She knows her stuff. My opinion, you all can believe what you want but don't be fooled. QVC wants your money only! The truth is I can only last about 2 minutes and it is off to another show, even when there is something I would like to see a good presentation, it is just not there. I have never seen a full presentation, they are all so annoying.

I do not miss her. I watch the shows for the products not the host. They are trying to be liked so people will buy more but if it is something you don't want or need not even a great host can talk you into buying it. I like QVC and watch the shows I am interested in. I always watch Carolyn Pollack and Dooney no matter who the host is.

Oh come now. Really...does anyone really think that one host will make or break a business like QVC? Now, if you're talking about them offering "narrow branded" shoddy, overpriced merchandise with over the top shipping and handling (yes..even with their so called "new and improved shipping) then maybe yes, they just might be "lost."

really, they just dont have any variety, nothing much to buy. OH...and it would help immensly if they would hire people that do not sound as if they have speech impediments and can pronounce their vowels.

Re: Sorry but QVC is lost without Lisa R......

I miss Lisa's presentations and shows. She had a classy way about her and an excellent rapport with most of the vendors. Lisa also knew the products she was selling. I think she must have studied the information about each product. This was very helpful. Also, her professionalism helped new vendors when they first came on. It seemed like her prompting of them helped the vendors feel more comfortable.

I think that it is not a coincidence that Lisa left just as the new CEO, or whatever other new honcho, came aboard the same week she declared she was leaving. When Lisa announced her departure I thought she must have clashed with the new regime. I have heard vendors call Lisa 'the queen of QVC' and I think that the new management might of had a problem with one person being so dominant. Lisa was not just a host too, remember she started the GILI brand too. She seemed to dominate the programming with her shows like PM Style with Lisa Robertson, Lisa Robertson's Christmas, Lisa Robertson's Posh Presents, Lisa Robertson Show, and live remotes in Italy and more.

Now that she is gone the other hosts are on different hours and doing more and varied programs. I will continue to miss Lisa and her unique personality, but I am sure that that will fade over time. Hopefully, the new CEO at QVC will listen to the viewers, who are buyers, and try to work on improving the Q with better programming, improving quality (to reduce returns), and to hire non-annoying hosts. The Q also needs to stop their monopalistic mega-deals with such companies as Philosophy and others. They need to offer more variety at various price points. Their are many types of viewers they should not appeal to nitch groups. Just some of my views.

What new CEO?

Claire Watts left and they haven't hired anyone to replace her.
