It seems everything they are showing this season is sleevless or 3/4 sleeve. Does anyone know that there is a sleeve length that is meant for summer called the short sleeve? I know many women - especially older ladies need a 3/4 sleeve - ok I get that. However, not everyone else wants to wear sleeveless. My arms are pretty well toned but at 67 years old I do not want to wear sleeveless tops. Where are the short sleeves on anything beside t shirts?

I dislike 3/4 sleeves also.  I'm always cold in the summer when they crank the A/C; at least if I have short sleeves on, I can put on a sweater but you can't do that with the 3/4.  It just feel weird.  I don't care for capris either ... it's either full length pants or nothing.  Everything this season is ankle or shorter.

I've gotten a couple of tropical-themed cute short sleeves shirts from the D&C Studio collection.  Also one from C. WONDER.  There are pictures posted on another thread.

You might check the Quacker Factory shirts on sale on Zulily.  Quite a few short sleeves.

Did Roman's and Wal Mart stop selling short sleeve t-shirts?

I personally seems to do two sleeve lengths... long sleeves or sleeveless.  OK, I have my share of short sleeve t-shirts.  With all due respect to those who love the 3/4 sleeve length, I just don't find it flattering.  It's a length which was born decades ago when well dressed women wore gloves everyday as a fashion accessory.  In present times it just looks like a cost cutting measure for manufacturers to mass produce a long sleeve length using less fabric.  It also reduces returns because customers accept the fit will be unique to their arm length.  This is opposed to long-sleeve garments for women which come in one length, and therefore may fit properly -- or the customer returns because the sleeves are too short or too long.

I also have a problem with sleeves & sleeveless.  I want

short sleeves AND 100% cotton.  I hate knits in the

summer.  I am 65 and hot all the time.  You could used to get 100% cotton but it is impossible to find now.

I cannot get a lot of the items I want because of this.

@Hellodemocrat

L.L. Bean has many 100% cotton tops.  Here is a sampling.

@lolakimono, thanks for the post, I do like the v-neck t-shirt from LLB and have a couple of them. Personally, for the less casual but not formal wear (lol) I would like to see some elbow length sleeves, not in cotton as I don't want to look a wrinkled mess. That is my 2 cents worth on sleeve length.

I've never been a fan of 3/4 sleeves, but I love true elbow sleeves at the elbow, short sleeves, long sleeves; any type of sleeve that isn't 3/4.   I used to wear a lot of sleeveless in offices 'way back when', but not as much anymore because it's not hot/warm enough around here, so far.

I don't mind 3/4 sleeves on knits but on a woven shirt I think it looks like the the garment is too small or they ran out of fabric. When it is hot though I want a short sleeve because 3/4 are just too long. I have to look around quite a bit to find nice short sleeve tops. Casual short sleeve tees are easier to find.
