The only time I enjoy having someone else along when I shop is in bookstores. (And even then we look independently, meeting up at the end.)

If I am shopping for myself - I like to shop by myself.

If I am shopping for others - I usually am with my husband.

if I am shopping for the house - I like to shop with my daughter or my husband, I have trained them well - we all have pretty similar tastes. 😉

My Mother absolutely hates shopping - so she is no fun to go with. She is the type that runs in and runs out - absolutely no browsing ever.

I love to shop alone.  I can take as long as I like with nobody to rush me along.

There is shopping as a serious pursuit when you are there for a specific item or items and then there is "social" shopping.  The majority of my shopping is serious with some social thrown.

When I go out to shop I am alone 99% of the time.  I can get a lot accomplished when I am by myself, but sometimes it would be fun to have someone with me.  My DH, my 2 sisters, and all my friends hate shopping.  They have no interest in fashion or clothes other than the utilitarian aspect of it.

I used to go shopping with my mom and aunt who both had a great sense of style.  We would shop and try things on and talk about them.  We always had a good time. Since they both passed away I haven't had anyone to talk with about my shopping for years so...

Thank you to all the readers and posters here for giving me an outlet to discuss fashion, style, clothes, etc.  I enjoy having your company as I shop, even if it is in spirit and not in person.

@wilma,

Same problem for me! I love to shop, but first of all, we don't have any real shopping in this little town I live in. Secondly, the friends I have here are not interested in shopping or fashion. When we lived in other large cities, I always had plenty of people to shop with.

On the other hand, I get a lot more accomplished when I am alone. If there is one thing I do not enjoy, it is shopping with someone who isn't interested in shopping. All they do is follow you around...kind of nerve racking...almost like when a sales lady follows you around.

@Yardlie

You are so right about shopping with someone who doesn't want to be there - not fun.

And that something they pick out for you may or may not be your style.

I like shopping with friends, but I rarely buy anything .  I buy when I'm alone.  If I want to try on and buy, I shop alone.

I browse with friends.

I enjoy shopping with friends but I am more likely to find things I want & need when I am alone. Shopping with friends is usually mostly socializing & maybe finding something to buy. Alone, I am Super Shopper! Hunter of Amazing Deals! lol
