Hello and happy Friday to all. Sun is shining for now, rain and lower temps coming for the next couple of days. I decided to take advantage of the nice morning and spent an hour or so pruning the shrubs in the front of the house. I figured I might as well get dead branches off and get a little shape into them before the leaves come in. I don't know what I'm going to do next.

Very happy you are loving retirement, Bernie. I love it as well.
I started the thread after you did, so I am including my post below.
---------------------
Good Morning/Afternoon! Another hot day here in southern Arizona -- should make it into the low 90's, and it wasn't all that cool during the last part of my walk this morning. Of course, I waited until 7:00 a.m. -- I know that I have to be more prompt when the weather is hotter. Still, I love the warmer weather we are having.
I have my last line dancing lesson this morning, and my goal is not to fall. It has been a good experience, but I am not planning to take more lessons. I will be taking two more loaves of banana bread with me -- bananas ripen way to fast this time of the year. Or, should I say over-ripen.
After class, I plan to do a bit of grocery shopping -- mostly the produce specials. Sprouts has lots of tempting bulk items like nuts and dried fruits, so I'll probably pick up some.
DH was a bit sleepy yesterday, but he was all smiles. The hospice nurse said that his heel is healing quite well. I asked if she thought it was taking a bit long, but she said, no. Anyway, I'm pleased that it is better, and I love seeing him smile.
The lunch yesterday was very enjoyable, but I was a little disturbed by one of the ladies who kept talking about "curing" her Aunt's dementia by using coconut oil, etc. It is a very long story, but I tried all those things with DH, and it bothers me when someone implies that I didn't try hard enough. I'm sure she didn't realize that is how I would feel, and I know that I should not be bothered by it, but......
Hope everyone is having a nice day! Please post if you have a chance.
Hugs,
Linda

consider feeding the shrugs next. I'm retired too and try to take advantage of these few nice days. It has been a long winter.

Good afternoon ladies, hope all is well.
Bernie - Thank you for starting us today. Glad you are enjoying retirement. It is nice to decide as you go what you want to do. I have cleaning to do, I may do it and I may not. I think I will take my walk first since the weather is supposed to go down hill this weekend.
Linda - I don't think you can really "cure" demenia - Don't ever feel bad about what you have done. You have done more than some would do. Your DH shows this everytime you walk in with his smile. He knows he can depend on you - no matter what.
Glad you enjoyed your dance lessons, I tried line dancing many years ago and I did enjoy it.
I have some cleaning to do, I want to get some deep cleaning done before the nice weather comes and stays. I really don't want to be indoors during the good weahter.
Well off to start my walk. Have a good afternoon everyone.

Good evening, shopping friends.I am home from work early as the students were released an hour and a half early for a required teachers' meeting.
When I looked at my phone messages, I saw that the town had called earlier. Apparently, there is a water line problem which has to be repaired. Of course, I wasn't home when they called so I h ad no opportunity to run a supply of clean water.
Midnight appears to be doing much better, but he does go into hiding at times but not for long periods. He is eating more and is spending time on my lap.
Bernie--I also need to take care of the shrubbery. If it is dry tomorrow, I may start the job but rumor is that we will be having more rain.
Susan--You have been doing such a good job of decluttering that deep cleaning will be much easier.
Linda--You are so dedicated to DH and being with him. There is no reason for you to let someone else's comment drag you dow. You have tried a variety of things and true dementia is not something that can be cured at this time. The symptoms may be relieved temporarily but the dementia cannot be cured.
Kathleen--Again, it is good to see you posting. The freedom from the stressful job will give you an opportunity to explore future options, especially if DH may be retiring in a year. I have always enjoyed your pictures.
I did order yesterday's TSV of 3-piece pajamas.

Good afternoon ladies.
Kathleen - Supper is pizza - We have pizza every Friday. This started when I was working and continues today. Hope your enjoying your days more now.
Jean - Glad you had a good day today. Glad to hear Midnight is feeling better.
Need to get clothes out of the dryer, hope everyone has a great afternoon.

Linda @LindaLatte to some degree I know what you are saying. For me, it's my thyroid. Honestly if there was a way to eat my thyroid into better function I would have done it. I made the endocrinologist take different blood tests to prove to me it was auto-immune based before I would agree to take maintenance medication for it.
Sometimes all the natural things in the world won't arrest a particular disease and that's the reality of it.
