Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time - Monday June 29th

Good aftenoon ladies, hope all is well.

I tried to start the thread this morning and it would not let me log on, I tried twice and just decided to forget it.  I really do not like this new set up.

Charlene - Good luck with the goats and sorry about the truck.

Jean - Good luck with you medical appt. and have fun when you go to Lexington, I have never been there.

LindaL - I am sure the pants good great on you.  Funny how we think something looks bad on us and everyone else doesn't.

Pinky - Come clean my house.  I try to keep things picked up, but you know how that goes.

Not much going on here, I am about to clean bathrooms ( I know, you are all jealous), but it is a necessary deed.

Hope everyone has a great evening.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time - Monday June 29th

Bird Mama, I hope that you have a great day at work.  It was in the 70's for two weeks & we will hit 80 today.  I love 70'as I hate hot weather.  It makes my hands sting.  We might get a popup shower today.  That necklace is beautiful.

Jean, no TSV for me either.  I think that I am way too old & it would be too hot.  We usually have an oil change etc. before a road trip.  Have fun in Lexington.

LL, I am sure that you look cute in the TSV as it would be nice for a walk.

Cerb, WOW 3 more snake eggs.  Good thing that you are getting rid of them.  My DH could milk a cow as we live in a dairy state & he did it before we got married.  Not me, I am a city slicker.

pinky ann, I don't like clutter, so it is easy for me to toss things away.  I love fall too.  The colors are so beautiful.

My days activities will follow.

Linda R, & Cerb,  Call me dumb, but I thought that the Road Runner was just a cartoon animal.  DH said he knew that it was an animal.

Susan,  I used to order lots of Denim & Co., but now I am very careful what i order as I don't want to have to send something back.  Yes, I am sure that they will always take our $$$.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time - Monday June 29th

Susan, I like a clean bathroom, so DH does the tub & toilets.  I do the sinks.

I had my consultation this morning with my gyn Dr.  He said to come back in 1year for another pelvic ultrasound to see if there are any polyps.  None show up at this time.

I had to call social security this morning to verify that we have a different checking account.  Of course my DH was out for his walk & they wouldn't let me give his info, so that was another phone call.

It was another great day in the hot tub.

My computer is very slow with this new system.  My DSIL fixed my tablet, but my spell check is gone.

4 of my tomato plants are doing excellent, but 1seems to be struggling so I bought something today to spray on it.  I don't have a green at all.

I don't think you will have any problems with canceling a pre-order, Bernie.  I have never received "the letter", but I'm sure that they won't hesitate to let you purchase other items.  That necklace is very pretty.

I'm not buying the TSV, twinny.  Some time ago, I did purchase a similar item from eBay (no pockets), but I only use it for exercising at Curves.  It really isn't any different than wearing a pair of leggings, just a little extra skirt.  I certainly would not wear a short skirt like that, but over leggings it doesn't look bad on me.  It is sort of funny because I can have strong opinions about certain items -- would look horrible on me, etc., but then I try them or something similar and it looks nice.  LOL

I got a pop up picture on FB today which was a group of friends having lunch five years ago.  It was a nice picture and visit, but the funny thing is that I was wearing a top I still own (D&Co. tank and printed shirt.)  And, I have worn it a couple of times this summer.  No wonder I have trouble getting rid of things -- still fits, I still like it, etc.  Maybe I should think about putting a time limit on clothes or something.  The problem is that I often decide to get rid of the more recent things and keep the old.  I think I might need counseling.

Thanks pinky ann for recommending "Miss Minimalist".

Good news about your doctor, twinny.  Once a year is plenty.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time - Monday June 29th

Hi girls,

Just checking in real quick again. Friday is the last day of the semester, and I'm behind on my work.  I was up until abut 4 a.m. finishing a paper, have one more to do, then this week's work - an exam and a book analysis.  The events of the past week - Gideon's going home to heaven, plus things in the news - have me feeling really sad and depressed. Sometime's it's hard to remember that God is in control and nothing takes Him by surprise...

The Chief of Police is taking my complaint against the Nazi from Animal Services seriously; I have a meeting with a detective who's been assigned to investigate her tomorrow afternoon - prayer appreciated, both that the citation is dropped, and that they do something about her. We have an awesome police department - every officer I've ever met has been nothing less than kind, courteous, and genuinely caring - they don't need a loose cannon like her to ruin their reputation.

That's a beautiful necklace, Bird. There's a kind of jewelry made of Spanish enamel, usually black and yellow, that often has bird designs - can't think of what it's called - do you have any of that?  Does the insurance company you work for start with a T?  My cousin works at the office in Detroit; I was thinking it would be funny if you knew each other.

Oh, housecleaning...I'm behind again; I'll catch up after Friday. Not my favorite job by any means, but I also can't stand a messy house.  BTW, the seat of my leather sofa is getting worn and the color is lighter on the part where I sit all the time - does anyone know how to restore it?

I have to run to Aldi for bread, then get back to school work.  I've learned the hard way that bread doesn't stay for long in this weather - I threw out half a loaf of rye and of white, and an entire loaf of cheese bread as they were moldy. I'll have to stick t just keeping one kind on hand.

Have a blessed day, everyone.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time - Monday June 29th

Charlene - Wow, your snake is making up for lost time.  How is Daisy doing?  Is she eating better and interacting with the other goats?  I would probably be afraid I'd hurt the goat if I pulled too hard.

Jean - did the item in your cart go through?  I wouldn't be surprised if your Quacker item goes up in price.  I was puttering around looking and Joan Rivers jewelry on clearance.  There was a necklace as last clicks for $23 and change.  The video was available from when they showed the price on the screen.  The clearance price had been $19 and some change.  I have a couple of pieces of JR jewelry that serve me well.  I think to some degree TPTB are trading on Joan being gone to hike up prices.  JMO.

LindaL - work isn't really bad, it just gets in the way of what I want to do sometimes (lol).  Did your DH's appointment with the dermo go well?

Rock your skirted leggings when you work out :-)  I have a couple of Denim & Co tops that I've had for years that I still wear.

Pinky Ann - It was chilly here yesterday and a perfect day for soup.

LindaR - I think I'm going to cancel the order.  I watched the video again and think I fell for the sleek and sexie comment.  Really - I'm not looking for a man and I don't need to look that alluring for my birds.  I'm trying to get down to signature pieces that are well made and weighty.

Arlene -  fingers crossed that the complaint from Animal Services is dropped.  I work for BCBSM.

Susan - perhaps there is a lady out there who wanted the necklace badly and my cancelling will open a slot for her?  They can slap away (lol).  Yes I was jealous of you being able to clean the bathrooms while I was at work (hahahahaha).

Twinny - thank goodness you don't have to go back for another year.  Good news indeed!
