Shopaholics One Day at a Time (May 11th, Thursday)

Hello all - I slept like the dead last night and feel rested today.  It's overcast and it looked like we had some rain last night.  Did anyone get a look at the full moon last night?  Wow - it was a beauty.

I did order that Hagit eye necklace that was a lunchtime special and the Q has shipped it out.  I took advantage of the easy pay (under $10).

Other than that - not too much excitement (which is how I like it).

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (May 11th, Thursday)

Bernie--Thank you for starting the thread. Glad you had a good night's sleep as it can make a great difference in how the day turns out. It sounds as you are having a great day. Here's to good sleep!

meallen--Thanks for the cute graphic.

I worked today in an elementary school, and was able to view parrt of the pre-school graduation. Those little ones looked so cute in their caps and gowns and talking about what they wanted to do as a job when they grew up.

I see gold is the focus today based upon waht I have seen. I went through that phase so I'm not tempted. I'd rather save the money for travel or other valuable purpose.

I likely have a package from the Q at the Post Office but I didn't have my Post Office key with me so I chose to wait until tomorrow.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (May 11th, Thursday)

Bird Mama, I didn't see the moon last night, but I will look at it tonight.  Your Hagit necklace looks nice. Wear it in good health.  I would love a good night's sleep.

Meallen, nice graphic as usual

Jean, how fun to see some preschoolers graduate.  Our 3 DGC all had  little caps & gowns.  Such wonderful memories of their early years.  It won't be long & we will have HS graduations & college years to look forward to.

It is a nice 70's sunny day.  This morning my  DH & I drove to a city near the Capitol city where we will meet his mom & her SO on Sunday   it was a trial run as we haven't been to his place before.  It is in a beautiful retirement area.  Then it was off to Walmart for some SF pies.  Then it was off to the hot tub store for a new filter.  DH is filling the hot tub so that we can go in tonight

Then it was off to office depot to get our shredder unclogged of all things.  Then on to the Subaru dealer for an oil change.  They entertained us with a bag of popcorn & a cup of Latte & a free coupon for a car wash just down the street.  They even vacuumed it all out & washed all of the windows inside.  It was a mess from vacation.

Then we went to Kohl's where I bought 1 pair of Juicy Couture dark denim & white denim shorts & my DH bought a pair of Navy slacks.  We had  30% off coupon & another $10 off.  It was a hot 70° today & that's all it took to get me into action!

Then it was off for a 4 for $4.00 at Wendy's for lunch.

We then went to DSW where we looked, but nothing wooed us.  I just like that store.

Needless to say I am exhausted.  A good book is calling my name tonight.

I have lots of laundry to do tomorrow since it will be in the 70's & sunny.  Then I am walking with my friend  & getting groceries.  Excitement I know.

Hugs to all of you.

Twinny--When I went to school, we didn't have pre-school so seeing those little kids in caps and gowns was a  hoot. You really did well at Kohls. I was getting in the mood to check out Kohls this weekend when I got my scratch off and discovered it was only 15%. I'm no longer in the mood to shop Kohls this weekend.

Jean, neither of our DC went to preschool.  At that time. I felt that it wasn't necessary, but I was a stay at home mom.   Now it seems like a need.  I very much dislike a 15-20% off coupon at Kohl's & the discount coupon goes into the recycling bin!  Since this weekend will be bitter sweet for me, I felt the need to be good to myself.

It is a beautiful sunny evening.  I am going to enjoy a good book & retire early.

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (May 11th, Thursday)

Good Evening!  Thanks for getting us started, Bernie.  Glad you got some sleep, and your sister was not hurt when her car broke down.  Hope you like the necklace.

Cute graphic, meallen.

Glad you were able to work today, Jean.  That graduation must have been very cute.  I remember one of my DGS' graduation from pre-school, and he was adorable.

You certainly got some good bargains at Kohl's, twinny.  I have not been to that store in a couple of years since there is none nearby.  Funny thing, I was thinking about shorts myself.  But, I think my interest was started after watching a Q show.  I have not worn shorts yet this year, and I usually wear them only in the house.  So, I don't need many pairs.  I will definitely check to make sure I'm not buying "extras".

I spent some time yesterday evening and this morning going through my clothes and my kitchen pantry and I am happy to say I did a bunch of de-cluttering and trashing.  I was afraid I might have second thoughts about donating some of the clothes, so I took them directly to the thrift shop after feeding DH lunch.

It has been a pretty busy day.  I staffed a table promoting the summer OLLI classes, and then came home to change and go to the gym.  Then, I went to visit DH and feed him lunch, stopped by the thrift store, had my lunch, and then went to the grocery store to pick up some produce and dairy.  The hospice nurse was visiting early today, so I only had time to drop off the food before going back to DH's facility.  Glad I already prepared dinner (chicken tortilla soup) so I just need to heat it up.

DH's DD comes for her visit tomorrow, and I want to get some dusting and cleaning done before she visits.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda
