Linda @LindaLatte I'm glad that you had a favorable experience with your new PCP. It sounds like she really listened which is (sadly) remarkable these days.
I'm sitting here trying to figure out exactly what bit or stung me when I was in the backyard refreshing the birdbaths yesterday. I know what mosquito bites look like and these are not that. I got bitten/stung twice on my left forearm and once on my right forearm. The bites/stings swelled up considerably and they burn more than they itch. I have to keep the birdbaths clean and full of fresh water so I'll make sure that I wear long sleeves when I go outside today.
My default for situations like this is Calamine/Caladryl lotion.
Other than ^^that^^ it's be uneventful in my part of the world, lol.

Hi Everyone!
I've had some trouble trying to post and read the forums lately. UGH!! Hope everyone is fine. Our weather is partly cloudy with medium humidity. YIPPEE! We've had too many hot and humid days. It's really kicked up my migraines. I think the gardens are starting to slow down for the Fall season.
LindaLatte---I'm glad your doctor appointment went well. It's rare to have good attention and details from the professionals these days. What a difference it makes in check-ups, etc.
Birdmama---I hope your bites/stings are healing. I think they can be slower to heal than a cut or burn at times. Hopefully, you're get some relief soon.
I caved and ordered another set of the Peria storage containers yesterday. I'm hoping to put them to use in the cedar closet with the extra bedding that's in there. I have a few pieces that I used to store Christmas garland and that has worked well.
The QVC packages arrived yesterday. (finally) It's been a slow process for delivery in the last few months. I read that some of the orders go thru a warehouse in Ontario. I'm not sure if that's a fact or not. Has anyone else noticed a delay?
Have a good afternoon/evening.

good afternoon we had exciting night last night. The tornado sirens went off about 4:30 AM. My TV wasn't working so I was monitoring the weather on the phone. I heard my neighbors get out in the hallway. I'm not sure exactly where they went but I thought I've been around enough tornadoes in my life. I know what to do if I hear the sound it makes. And actually, it does sound like a train we're supposed to have more storms tonight.
I found my passport card. I decided to go through my purses. I don't have that many and they're mostly lug so I looked at the last one I had travel on a plane with and lo and behold. There was my passport card. My passport is really messed up. I just got another weird letter from them, but I'm not gonna deal with that till after I have my infusion when I get back so I feel a little bit better
fressa. I looked long and hard at at the storage containers from yesterday, I have quite a few that I use and I just not I did not think. That I needed anymore at this time. I asked Sydnie if she wanted to sit and she said no, she knows what they look like, and she went on and looked at her and she said no it'll be too much for her apartment lol I'm sure you will find good. Use for them.
Linda, sorry about the car issues. I'm amazed that my window still go up and down on my 200,000 mile Prius. no repairs are cheap these days.
I did some grocery shopping just minimal things that I need before I leave. I chose this job at the more expensive grocery store in town and the prices were a little higher than at Walmart. I feel sorry for families who are living on the edge with their income trying to figure out school stuff for kids.
Bernie, owchie One never knows where those little biting creatures are, and you never know you have them until you find the bites on your body
I left a bag Of meds in the car so I'm gonna have to make a trip down in a little bit. I will wait until the mail comes.
My life is so exciting. The group that I call the jibber jabber ladies are always down in the front foyer, checking who's coming and going. When my son came over the other day, woman asked him if he lived here. He told her does he need to move in and then explain he was my son so he's here a lot. Yikes
Have a good rest of your day. I have to start thinking about what I'm going to pack.

Good Evening! Hope the pain/itching from those bites/stings go away soon, Bernie. Not only are they a nuisance during the day, they can really mess up your sleep.
Glad your weather is better, Fressa. I considered that TSV, but really do not need any more storage containers. I have had mixed experiences with Q deliveries. If they come from Ontario (CA), I usually get them pretty quickly. But lately, they have been coming from South Carolina or PA, and that can be slow. I guess it makes sense that everything cannot be in the same warehouses, but waiting can be a drag. Sorry you have not been able to post lately. I had some difficulty for a few hours, but mostly it has been okay.
Great news about your passport card, Barbara. Glad you can wait to deal with the passport mess. I would be very nervous about a tornado. Glad you knew just what to do, and hope the storms are not too bad tonight.
Funny story about the jibber jabber ladies. I am sure your son was not pleased. I may have mentioned, but sometimes when I visit patients in nursing/memory facilities, I have been questioned about whether I am a resident. I try not to let it upset me. After all, I do have the white hair and wrinkles.
It has been a pretty good day, but things did not go as planned. First, the director at the Sheriff's Auxiliary told me to come at 8:00 this morning, and go with the current class of recruits up to Tucson where they were having their pictures taken. She promised to take me to the uniform store with others who might want to get items. I just needed a dress shirt (different than the polo shirts we wear for the summer) for the Fall.
I took a short walk, raced home to shower and eat breakfast, and got there at 7:50 or so. Not only was she not there, but none of the new recruits were. After waiting a few minutes, I went back to the other part of the office, and they called her (no answer). Then they called the Commander, and she said that the class that was supposed to be held this week was canceled and she didn't know anything about my going to the uniform store.
They have a used uniform room, so they allowed me to look for a shirt. I found one that fit quite well only to find out that it was not the correct one for "soft badge" volunteers like me. I went back, and found one that was correct, but it was very form-fitting. I figured if I gained a pound it would not fit, and it was pulling on my shoulders. I found another one that was very long, but roomy enough for me (I just do not like tight clothes). I took it to the alterations shop, and they will have it ready on Monday.
I checked on my muscle relaxant prescription, but the pharmacy said they only received it this morning, and it would not be ready for an hour or so. Then I went to visit my former hospice patient, came home for lunch, and went back to the gym. It is way too hot to walk outdoors, so the treadmill was a much better choice.
I called again, and the prescription was still not ready. They said to wait about 30 minutes, which I did. It was still not ready when I arrived, but they got it ready in 5 - 10 minutes.
At least I got everything done, but....
Waves to Barbara, Fressa, Bernie, Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.
Sleep well.

Sounds like each of us has something going on that's challenging in some way or the other.
Since Barbara raised the subject of food prices I thought I would share something. I shop every 10 to 14 days and if I want something I buy it. A week or so ago I picked up a box of the 'giant size' of Cheerios because I was out of breakfast cereal. I know that the price of everything is up and because I tend to buy health and beauty and home stuff like paper towel, dish ship etc I understand that I'm gonna pay.
I unpacked the trunk , put my items away and then I looked at the receipt. The box of Cheerios was $6.99. The box of Clorox 2 powder was $6.69.
I sat at my kitchen table and said out loud - Dear God, how is a family with children supposed to be able to feed them? I rarely buy meat because I've never been much of a meat eater. I thought about growing boys and how they mow through milk and proteins like meat and just shook my head. Hard times are coming and I don't think the citizenry is prepared for it.
They call vaseline the wonder jelly (I agree) and I call Caladryl the wonder lotion. It calmed down the bug bite/stings and I am healing.

Good Afternoon! I sure hope we hear from Glenda, aka twinny, today.
Glad to hear Caladryl did the trick, Bernie. It has almost always worked for me, but one time I had to get some sort of Rx medication and put plastic over it. That was not fun.
I have noticed the same thing about food prices and am concerned about families with children and others who just do not have enough money to afford them. The food bank next to my church (it is independent, but started at the church), just posted that their "backpack" program is losing funding. This program provides needy kids with food for the weekends, summer break, etc. They are hoping that the community will contribute to keep the program going.
My local grocery store has specials on Cheerios every few weeks. Sometimes, you need to buy three boxes but other times one or two to get the lower price. The sale is for the small boxes, and I am totally amazed how much the regular price is for such a small amount. Since the food banks often ask for cereal contributions, I usually buy at least a box or two when it is on sale.
Today is the seventh anniversary of my DH's death, and I admit to be more emotional than normal. Not sure if that was related, but I did quite a bit of crying at church -- but it was happy crying. One of our parishioners (I think she is from Honduras) just became a U.S. citizen. A lady in the congregation has been working with her for four years, and she passed the test on the first try. We were all so happy and she was so grateful. Heartwarming.
I saw on the news that there was flash flooding in Wisconsin yesterday Certainly hope Glenda was not affected.
Waves to Bernie, Barbara, Fressa, Susan, Glenda, and all of our posters and readers.
Have a nice Sunday.
Hugs,
Linda

Hello everyone. I catch up on your activities whenever I have a chance. It's usually long after posts. One of these days I'll be retired and hopefully following in your footsteps.
I just wanted to add about groceries that when I was a student on a tight budget, I might have $5 for groceries. I had to carefully add up everything as I put it in the cart to be sure I could pay. So for people on a budget like that, they can't stock up when there is a sale price. Just to say I'm sure all your support of food banks will be greatly appreciated. I am also doing that.

Welcome and stop by when you can @Tadaki. I remember periods in my life when I had orthodontist bills (for myself) and a car payment and I pinched dollars and pennies so hard I'm sure people in the neighborhood heard the screams, lol. Then I got older and bought my house at the age of 39 ( I will be 63 this month). There's an expression that goes something like robbing Peter to pay Paul and I used to joke with myself that I needed to be in a circus because I sure knew how to juggle bills to keep everyone on time and happy. I took instant coffee and powder coffee creamer to work and took granola bars and yogurt or a sandwich to work and had it so down pat that I could put a $20 bill in my wallet at the beginning of the month and end the month with the same $20 in my wallet. I didn't want to spend money to eat at cafeterias and restaurants at work because that money could go to my dinner budget.
When you've lived paycheck to paycheck and sometimes you don't know if you're going to make it to the next paycheck you never forget it. I think that's why I run a tight budget to this day.
I support local food drives and local food banks because the thought of anyone going hungry sends me up one wall and down the other.
