Good Morning/Afternoon! It is nice and sunny out, and it should reach the upper 70's today.
DH wasn't quite as sleepy yesterday afternoon, but he had not wanted to get up for lunch, and only ate it around 3:00 p.m. He did pretty well with dinner, which surprised me. I should mention that lunch is the big meal of the day at his facility, so dinner is often something like a sandwich with fruit or salad on the side.
Fingers crossed, Army DGS will be finished with community college and transferring to a 4-year school in January. He registered for the January session yesterday, which is pretty exciting. I still have a little money in his 429 account, so early this morning, I called to get a withdrawal to pay the tuition.
I will be visiting DH soon, and plan to do a little grocery shopping later. Turns out that my DD likes my fruitcake, so I'll be buying some ingredients to make one for her.
Waves to all of our posters and readers. Hope everyone has a nice day, and please post if you have a chance.
Hugs,
Linda
P.S. I also ordered those SG turtlenecks, Charlene (teal colors), and I wore one yesterday. I wasn't sure I liked the print, but it is pretty nice, and I received a compliment.

Hello Ladies, I have my fingers crossed for your GS and his transfer to a 4yr college in Jan. I hope your DH is not as sleepy today as he has been. IT almost reached 60 degrees here this afternoon, crazy weather, they are talking about snow this weekend.
I am getting all my fall decos down and trying to put up my Christmas stuff too...I am thinking that this year many of my items will be staying in the bins......I am getting too old for this! WE had a tree cut down today,it was a double trunk one and one was blown down during one of our wind storms a few weeks ago...it fell backwards so missed our pool but did take down a fence behind it....the other standing tree was going to be taken down in the spring but the tree guy said that today was such a good, warm no wind day he would do it...so now we have the start of firewood for next year...it should be good and aged by then.
Not much else going on here.....have a nice day everyone..Marijane

Linda--Thank you for starting the thread. I'm happy that you are able to help DGS with furthering his education. I do hope that DH is more alert today when you visit. I wore the SG turtleneck today. I think it was a good investment.
Marijane--Enjoy those warm temps while you can. We also have had abnormally high temps. Part of me wishes that this could be year-round but another part suspects that Winter might be super bad when it finally arrives or at least part of it.
I had a very good day at work. On the way home, I stopped at the Post Office. I had received that set of Mally eyeshadow colorsticks. Of course, there are colors I might not use as often, but I could not resist doing that test to show how long they last. I made a nice mark with one and then one minute later, rubbed the color swipe. I stilll have color.

Hi friends - I'm checking in a little late in the day. Linda - thanks for getting us started, and I'm glad to hear that you and Jean like the Graver tops. I own quite a few of her tops and they last and last. Marijane - sorry to hear about the tree falling down and taking out some fence. Sounds convenient to go ahead and get the second one cut down now too.
It's been another very warm and sunny day here. I should be enjoying it, but I'm just finding it odd. I've been busy doing many little chores today. I've gotten a lot accomplished, though it doesn't really "show", if you know what I mean.
My DD had a rough day yesterday. I think that she euthanized 5 pets in a row. Then one of her co-workers referred to her as Dr. Kevorkian and made her laugh. Sometimes a little dark humor can help each other make it through the challenging days. (I couldn't do what she does...)
Waves to all of our regulars and visitors alike.

Charlene--Your DD has a rough job. It would be so rough to euthanize animals, especially that many in a row. At the same time, it may be the most loving thing that can be done for animals whose quality of life is very much in doubt. I'm beginning to think that we need to change the title of this thread to the SG Turtleneck Thread. Yes, it is frustrating to spend much time doing things but then you look around and wonder if makes a difference.

I can't remember if any of this is a repeat - it's been that kind of week, lol.
I pulled something in my neck when I went to bed on Sunday night and was kinda stiff on Monday. Monday, after work, my middle sister let me know her cat died on Sunday. She said she didn't want to call me because it was near the time of year I got the call about eldest sister. I felt bad because she had to go to the emergency vet alone.
Cat was at least 16 years old, had bloodwork in October - nothing too out of the norm for an elderly cat.
It was kidney failure - sudden onset - at least symptoms wise.
Work has been nutty as usual.
All I've been doing is deleting sales emails. Not feeling the urge to shop. Still don't know when my book that I ordered in April will be available to ship from Amazon. Maybe I'll get it by Christmas.
