Hi Ladies! I didn't see our thread, so I thought I would start one.

News flash from here -- we bought a sofa yesterday! I have been thinking about it for ages, but couldn't get motivated enough to go look. Since we didn't have any plans, DH and I went up into town, and found a lovely leather sofa (medium/dark brown.) It was way above my budget, but DH agreed to kick in some money (this took some negotiation on my part.) If he didn't really like it, I'm sure he wouldn't have agreed to contribute, and he said that he liked it much better than the others we saw. Anyway, it will be delivered on Wednesday. I was happy that the delivery was $85 which doesn't seem at all out-of-line for a sofa which is coming from quite a distance away.

The other news flash is that my IRA has finally been "rolled over" to my government thrift plan. I have been working on this since the end of October -- better late than never, I suppose.

In addition to the sofa purchase (I think it is the most expensive furniture purchase I have ever made), I found another pair of shoes at a nearby Mall. I haven't been to this Mall in quite a while, and it was fun. DH had a bookstore to visit, and I went to the shoe store and to a new kitchen store. These shoes will replace some Clark's privo? casual shoes that I have had for a long time. The rubber on the bottom had holes in them -- I didn't notice that until yesterday, so the timing was good. I may take these shoes on my trip as well as the Clark's I purchased earlier in the week.

When we came home, we changed and went to the pool -- the first time I have been swimming since last Fall -- very nice. I did cancel my TSV jacket order since I blew money on the shoes, and they were much more of a "need" than the jacket. Oh well....

My SIL has an interview for a better-paying and less physically challenging job at her work (assisted living type of place). Fingers crossed that she gets the job.
