Shopaholics - One Day At A Time (Friday, 8/17)

Good Morning/Afternoon!  It is sunny and warm/hot here, which is fine by me.  It was pretty nice on my walk, and I did some feed pulling after my walk.  We had a storm yesterday evening, so the weeds were a bit easier to get out than usual.  We are responsible for weeding the "wash" (alley) behind our houses, and this can be a challenge.  I used a shovel for some of the work and also wore gloves.  Sort of patting myself on the back here, sorry.  I know some of you (perhaps many) spend hours and hours taking care of your shrubs, etc., but I don't do as much as I should.  I usually pull a few weeds every time I go out or come back, but it is just a little per day.

I might have mentioned that my caregivers group was good yesterday, and I got some tips from another lady whose husband passed away last month.  Certainly a lot of things to take care of when your spouse dies.  I received quite a few nice sympathy cards yesterday.

Still having trouble sleeping and eating, but I'm doing better.  One day at a time for sure.

I think I'm safe from Q shopping today unless something really, really calls my name.  I love hoop earrings, but no real desire to purchase more.

The storage bench that I ordered came yesterday, and it is a winner.  I am searching for a file cabinet to replace a plastic one that is falling apart, but I have not purchased or ordered one yet.

I have to say that your tomato harvest is very impressive, twinny.

I found my Aretha Franklin CD, and I've been having my own celebration of her life, Bernie.  What a voice she had.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone has a nice day, and please post if you have a chance.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: Shopaholics - One Day At A Time (Friday, 8/17)

Hello, I woke up late and that always puts me in panic mood for some reason even though I dont work...lol Yesterday I did my nesting for fall in the room I rent and I still have 2 more things I have to do to make it more my taste.

I need to go to Michaels craft store, they are having a great sale right now for some things I need. I love that place and let my imagination go wild in there which is not good for the budget.

Should be getting 2 pairs of earrings I ordered from the Q today. Cant wait to get them, hope they are nice and dont have to return. I went on a shopping spree when they had a flash 6 ez pay sale and ordered philosophy, earrings, martha stewart jeans, and Laurie Felt Jeans and Breezies Bra's. All should be here by next week. I will give a review on everything.

Enjoy your beautiful Friday wherevery you are!

Linda--Thank you for starting the thread. Your approach to weeding is very much like mine--a little at a time bu then it seems the weeds are one step ahead of you especially when it rains. I'm sorry that you are having difficulties sleeping but that can be expected. It is good that you are getting support from others as well as the cards.

Felicia--Enjoy your fall harvesting at Michaels. We no longer have one in the city as it went out of business a few years ago. You certainlly have some nice items to look forward to receiving; enjoy them!

I'm home from work and it was another day of rain with the next four days expected to be rainy. I need to get my nails done so i'll likely go to the city this weekend. The Clarks boots I ordered on clearance are very nice and fit well. Right now, I'm having coffee while watching one of the gold shows. I'm somewhat interested in the white gold earrings but time will tell. Right now, I am tired and just want to rest.

Oh my!! I just checked my order status. I didn't expect this to happen again but I just got another one day delivery from QVC. A309452 in lapis blue and in red, two of my favorite colors. This will be replacing a couple of aging tops which are only good for in-house wearing.

I think I will pick up that Affinity Diamond 32 inch tennis necklace for only $7499 and on six easy payments. Not!!

Hello all, it's a gloomy kind of day here and I basically puttered around the house all day - nothing exciting.  I didn't even bother to check out the Q's jewelry offerings today.

I paid for an album download with Tidal and the download stalls and doesn't go anywhere.  That kind of things really gets my grits Woman Tongue  I've emailed them and posted on their facebook page and have every confidence that we'll solve the issue.
