Re: Shopaholics - ODAT, Wednesday, May 18th

My head is about 1/2 screwed on today.  The big excitement around our town of 10,000 is that somebody hacked into a student's email address late Sunday night with threats to blow up the HS tomorrow.  Police did an all night search & school has been on all week with very tight security.  A much smaller schoo15 minutes away had a bomb scare posted in one of the bathrooms yesterday.

After gettng out of the hot tub, I am heading out for a moped ride to get myself back to normal.

Which wedding is this?  Did you wear your Linea outfit and the Chaps dress already?

Girl, I can't keep up with ya.

Lol, I can't keep up either. I decided the Chaps dress being polyester with long fairly tight sleeves would be too hot, so am saving it for possible the fall wedding of my grandson. I wore the Linea outfit to the hotel baby shower, also have the black palozza pants and the Joan Rivers tank that may go to the fall wedding reception. I also wore a different Linea outfit to another granddaughters HS graduation last weekend. All of a sudden, my grandchildren are keeping me hopping, lol. Loving it, but I am wearing down. Glad this will be the end, for a while, anyway.

DD made it to Hawaii today.  This is the USS Arizona Memorial.  It made me cry.  I've never seen her in her whites but she has posted several pictures now.

I had a really nice time with the red hat ladies, and have been home about a half hour.  I have someone coming to fix my ceiling fan in the living room.

Charlene, my heart goes out to you. Sending hugs your way.

Re: Shopaholics - ODAT, Wednesday, May 18th

Good Evening!  Sorry I'm so late in posting.  Good to see so many of you posting today.  I have been so busy despite DH being at the club much of the day.  He seems to be doing well.  There is an extremely nice male volunteer there who was sitting with DH when I picked him up.  DH seems to like him a lot, and he seemed confused about leaving with me rather than staying.  They made jewelry again today, and I was presented with another nice bracelet.  It matched my aqua top quite well.

I have pretty much decided against using the wheelchair.  I'm not as sore today, but it is just not reasonable for me to push DH around when he is so much heavier than me (at least 75 pounds).  This was made clear to me when I was at the gym -- most of my "upper body" lifting is 40 - 45 pounds.  His caregiver said she would try to help me when she has time, but I'm thinking it might not be safe for her.  She is heavier than me, but shorter and not that heavy.  I think my youngest DGS could do it since he is a weightlifter and very strong.

Thanks for getting us started, Susan.  DD wanted the TSV because it nests nicely, and she likes bowls.  So, I ordered it for her.  I didn't think that it would be all that useful for me.

So sorry about your day, Charlene -- many hugs.  People can be so cruel sometimes.  And, what was the point of talking down veterinarians?

Nice outfit, snicks.  I'm sure you will look great.

I had gotten a couple of empty boxes at work yesterday, and I took advantage of one of them to empty out the last drawer in one of DH's cabinets that I decided to donate.  I used the"sliders", and put it out in the carport.  Then I called the thrift shop to arrange for a pick-up of the cabinet, a footstool, and office chair.  That won't be until Saturday after next.  Then, one of my neighbors came by and asked if I was selling the cabinet.  Turns out his wife wanted it for her sewing.  So, I gave it to him.  I will still have the thrift shop pick up the remaining furniture, and maybe find other things to add to the donation.

After I dropped off DH and took a walk, I came home to find my new computer had been delivered.  I have never been a computer whiz, so it took some time for me to get it started.

It was pretty late by the time I made it to Wal-Mart and the 99 cent store, and I spent quite a while there.  I lost my grocery list which really made me angry at myself.  Anyway, after the discussion of plaid and Kathleen (I think) saying that Wal-Mart had some plaid shirts, I ended up finding a very pretty pink plaid shirt.  In my closet purging, I found that I didn't need much except for short sleeve cotton shirts.  I also bought some underwear.  Although I had quite a lot of underwear, much was polyester/nylon, etc., and I am wearing a lot more cotton these days.  Also, some of it pre-dated our move to Arizona five years ago.  I think it was time.  LOL

Things are very messy here, but I am really getting serious about de-cluttering.  It may take years, but better late than never.

Waves to Jean, Karen, Marijane, Essie, Rosa, Arlene, Kathleen (nice pictures), Bernie, twinny (good luck with your exam), LindaR, pinky ann, Gayle, and all of our posters and readers.

Big news for Army DGS -- he finally passed the PT test today!

Hope everyone sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda
