Good morning ladies, hope all is well.

No TSV for me today, and glad when all the Christmas stuff is over, can't they wait a few more months before they start that. Sorry, feeling a little cranky, have been up since 2:00 this morning. Just could not sleep, and now it is going to be a very long day.

Sonya - I wish the best to your friend's daughter, it is very sad what they are going thru.

Jean - The tops were very nice that you purchases.

Kathleen - I think 100 degree weather is a good excuse not to go outside and walk.

I think I may try to lie down here and sleep, we will see how that goes. Have a good morning everyone.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Sunday

Good morning Susan, so sorry that you can't sleep. I hope you are sawing logs by now. Smiley Happy DH woke up late for his pain pill - that has happened a couple times. Yay! I got up with him for a little bit but heading back to bed as well.

No plans today, other than sticking a roast in the crock pot. I also need to buy a few things at the grocery store. It was good to be lazy yesterday. I have 3 movies to watch or take back as well.

I did look at the CIJ food but nothing grabbed me. I do like the Prindibles if they are the candy kind but that's about it.

Susan--Thank you for starting the thread. I'm sorry that you didn't have much sleep. Being up at that hour does make for a very, very long day. You have a right to be grumpy.

Kathleen--The roast in the crock does sounds good. I had Mrs. Prindibles treat sized apples a few years ago and they were very good. It is good to have a lazy day.

Our temps are gradually warming up but still far below normal for July. I just had breakfast and am debating what to do today.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Sunday

I guess the most exciting event of the weekend is Grumpy Cat. It totally amazes me how relaxed that cat is with all going on. Midnight would have been long gone and whoever was holding him would have had bad claw marks.

Photo: Heeeere's GRUMPY!! Yes, I'll admit, I was FIRST in line to meet furry superstar Grumpy Cat at the Q! (She is VERY excited to meet all of you on Sundays with Carolyn and Dan tomorrow morning between 10am and Noon!) I told her I would let YOU caption our photo! (Mine would be.....

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Sunday

Kathleen - No luck on extra sleep, we did go out for breakfast and I had lots of coffee, so I am good for another couple hours.

Jean - I think the cat is sedated, my sister has/had cats, and I never saw one that would let a bunch of people hold it for any length of time.

I don't think we are going to get any sun today, it is so dreary looking out. I think a trip to Target is coming up, that may brighten my day.

Have a good afternoon everyone.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Sunday

Good Morning! Thanks for getting us started Susan. Sorry for the lack of sleep. I agree with you about the CIJ stuff so early, but I know some people enjoy these programs. Hope your trip to Target does brighten your day.

Hi Kathleen -- hope your DH takes it easy today, and you do as well. The roast in the crockpot sounds like a good idea. A man in front of me in the grocery store yesterday (DH "needed" croissants, etc.) had a roast and I was thinking that it looked good -- only in the crockpot since it is pretty hot here. Not sure what I will prepare for dinner. I wasn't that thrilled with the soup I made last night, but the corn was good. I tried cooking it in the microwave, and it worked out nicely.

Good morning Jean -- I'm sure you will have figured out what to do today by now. I will be going to church and then to the gym. Later in the day I have ironing to do. Not exactly exciting, but.... I did go swimming yesterday afternoon, and it was nice. There were several people in the pool, but I think I was the only swimmer in the bunch. Most just stood and talked or walked back and forth a bit in the shallow end.

Waves to Arlene, twinny, Marijane, LindaR, Jules, Gayle, Rosa, bird mama, Karen, Sonya, Nancy, Val (back from your trip?), Kathy, and all of our posters and readers.

Have a nice day everyone!

Hugs,

Linda

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Sunday

Linda--I had a nagging headache but did consider going to the city as it has been almost 2 weeks, during which time I would get my nails done and get some groceries. I decided to wait on the nails so the timing to do them would be about right for the Hawaii trip. I took Advil and the headache disappeared, so I decided to do some laundry while playing Pogo and watching Criminals Minds and other odds and ends.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Sunday

Linda I love that about the crock pot - and breakfast for supper here is very popular. This morning I made corn tortillas, sweat all over the kitchen and got one good one out of the batch. Not sure if I just need to give up or keep trying. lol My friend doesn't speak good english so she can show me how but not sure she can fix what is wrong with the way I'm making them. DH says ::gasp:: that I'm not patient enough and I can't go to expert right away. However, from stovetop to trash can gets old. lol

Susan I hate those no sleep days but it helps when you don't have to be somewhere all day. It took a lot of them before I finally got a sleep aid. I felt like the walking dead on Thursday day of his surgery and was SO happy when they finally brought me a cot to his room.

Jean sorry about your headache. I found a new show this morning "Master Pool" where they make fantastic pools but I've no patience for reality shows so I can come and go and still see the end result. I sure love my pedicure and plan for myself and girls to all have one done Saturday morning.

DH had a good day yesterday, a couple shaky moments (not sure why, I think just worn out or something) but slept a lot. He is already lengthening the window between taking his pills, and this morning before I got up he had already been outside. So he is feeling much better today. I doubt he will go back to work Tues, but we are both really happy with his recovery.

In the meantime, I'm still lazing about. I did put the roast in, made breakfast and that's about it. Can't believe tomorrow is back to work. But I have plenty of work to do.

PS. Wanty is alive and well. He convinced me to order a swimsuit I've been ogling because it went from $60 to $40 then finally down to $30. If it fits it will get worn a lot so we'll see. I have another one I really like on watch at ebay. Wanty is thinking I will need yet another.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Sunday

HSN just previewed a four-piece wardrobe from the Anthony collection. Channel surfing!

Kathleen--If you get the swimsuit, enjoy it. There is no place around here to use a swimsuit. It would be used only when traveling. I do have one I bought two years ago and have yet to use it. I just don't do the swimming pool thing when traveling. I did see a lady purchase several at Walmart to use at her home pool. They are surprisingly well made for the price.
