Shopaholics ODAT - Friday, March 13

Good Morning Ladies! It is a nice sunny day here, hope it is nice where you are as well.

Fortunately, DD received her birthday card yesterday, on her birthday. I guess mail had been held up between here and there last weekend due to the weather. She said they had no deliveries last weekend. That was a relief for sure.

My "classes" (British history and mystery writers) were good yesterday, and this afternoon I have the second session of the "Two Kids Growing Up in WWII England." I'm sure that I will enjoy it. I need to pick up a few things at Wal-Mart, which I plan to do this morning. I also plan to go for a walk this morning and go to Curves this afternoon.

I know Jean is off to sub today, and I hope it goes as well as her time yesterday. Happy the doctors have enabled her to go off medicine in order to go forward with her testing and possible treatment. I had to look at the Susan Graver tops on clearance as well, but I resisted. I think I'm the only woman who just doesn't care much for V-neck tops. My "turkey" neck bugs me. LOL I was tempted since the colors and price were right.

I like the fact that the TSV today has a detachable hood, but a rain/spring coat is just not needed here. I have a DB spring raincoat from many years ago that I love. Still get get many compliments on it, and makes me feel good. However, it does lack a hood.

The house next door is on the market, and for a pretty low price. Glad we don't need to sell right now, since I am afraid our house would be priced much lower than the purchase price.

Waves to Jean, Kathleen (love those notes your DD left for you -- how sweet), Arlene, twinny, Gayle, cerb, Rosa, pinky ann, Marijane, LindaR, Karen, and all of our posters and readers.

Hope many of you can check in and let us know what is happening today, and everyone has a nice day.

Hugs,

Linda

Good morning friends! Linda thank you for starting the thread. I'm glad DD got her card on time. I wonder why the house next door is so much less. I can't imagine a raincoat! I just walked around the building in the rain. ha ha I have an umbrella in the car but was too lazy to go get it. If anything I would need rain boots! I am SO looking forward to wearing shoes again. Never though I would say that. My boots are tearing up. My favorite (Target) pair are done - I'm wearing them but they need to go.

It seemed like everything went wrong yesterday. I brought those cards up here and figured it was time to open one. They have all been wonderful.

I couldn't get time off today to go hang out with our Jules, and she is busy with family all weekend so we decided to go home this weekend. I am a wee bit homesick this week. It will be nice to be in my house again, and I have a lot of things to take and things to bring back.

Good afternoon ladies, hope all is well.

LindaL - Than you for starting us today, glad DD got her card. Like you, I am not fond of a V neck shirt. I like the crew necks because I think I need color near my face. I do wear V necks occasionally but, I always feel like I look washed out. I know they are supposed to make you slimmer, but I just am not very comfortable in them. The house next to you may be priced low just to sell it. If a person just uses it for a winter home they may not want to bother with the upkeep until it sells. Sometimes it just is not worth the hassle and you lose too much money in the up keep and having someone keep checking on it. I hope whoever buys it is a good neighbor.

Kathleen - We are supposed to get rain this afternoon, we have had a beautiful day and a half here. We are actually up to 54 degrees, sad how we think that is so warm. I keep telling myself that good weather is around the corner.

Well off to finish washing clothes, hope everyone has a great afternoon.

Hello Ladies...sunny day here too but not very warm only in mid 30's the past two days so not much snow melt. This weekend we are to get a pile of rain they are saying......better than snow I say! I guess so far I am the only one who likes the v neck....I feel as if in a crew one my head is right there and I do like to wear a necklace so with the v there's room enough for one. I will have to go look at the SG ones. I had gotten the email about the s/v but did not read it and have not seen it presented....the less to tempt me I guess.

Kathkeen have a nice time at your "country" home this weekend ..your DD's notes on Fb were great. I am sick of wearing boots too..one of these days the snow will be gone.

Hope the house next door sells fast LindaL and you get nice new neighbors....maybe people who are there year round like you.

Not much else, went to the store this morning...bought my Nathans corned beef for Tuesday.....we will have pizza tonight. Have a nice day everyone.....Marijane

Hi girls!

It's a cool, rainy day here - temps are only in the low 50s, although if the forecast is to be believed they'll be in the high 70s by next week. I'm looking forward to being able to shut my furnace off.

I like V necks or crew necks. even though I have that stupid neck problem as well. Can't stand turtlenecks; I loved them when I was younger, but not anymore.

LindaL, your classes sound like so much fun! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1} I'd especially love to hear about growing up in WW II England. Hope you get some nice neighbors; I'm still praying the psychos next door to me are gone one way or another, although thankfully the new ones on the other side are fine. I agree - that house may be just priced to sell quickly.

Nothing special planned today - I need to run out and pay my mortgage, and pick up some cheese in Aldi. This weekend's projects are tending to all the floors and finishing up the tidying up - having things out of the way makes a huge difference.

Have a blessed day, everyone!

Good afternoon. The sun is out today---after days and days of cloudy weather.

LindaL: Hope you get great neighbors.

Jean: Wishing you the best on your medical journey.

Not much going on with me. Managed to make my screen very large. Now to figure out how to make it smaller again. I guess larger is better than smaller. Did that one time also. Now to remember how I finally got it adjusted

Linda--Thank you for starting the thread. Glad DD got her BD card on time.

I'm home from work, and like others, it was a dreary day with much rain expected or so they say. We do have a flood watch alert.

I'm tired but did have time to try on the QF capris that arrived. They fit very well. I have a tendency to order colors that are more intense but these are more pastel which I knew but thought I would like a change. They are nice so I will keep them but remember in the future that I just am not a pastel person.

Re: Shopaholics ODAT - Friday, March 13

Well, I'm home - the bank was a zoo and they were way understaffed with a line to the door; by the time I got the mortgage payment done, it was a few minutes after 4 - they'd better not try and hit me with a late fee. I got my cheese at Aldi, and a cabbage, as it was only 89¢ - I think I'll make stuffed cabbage rolls next week.

I treated the girls to pig femurs at Tractor Supply, and took Angelica into the store with me. Once again she peed on the floor, went up to every woman looking for kisses, and goosed at least a half dozen men. (sigh) Fortunately they were all very nice about it and who knows, maybe she'll "introduce" me to a good guy! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Very easy fix, LindaR - hold down the control button and then tap the minus button at the far right until the screen is the size you want. (Use the plus button if you want the screen larger.) Sometimes you'll get a pop-up in the upper right corner that says "restore to default," and if you do, you can just click on that.

Jean, those QF capris are nice, but I can't justify spending so much, especially since I don't need any - I have many pair I've never worn. Hope you enjoy yours though.

These rainy days make me feel like just vegetating...I think I'll finish the latest in my books series.

Have a good night!
