Must be the new look.  I've seen it in several stores just this past week.

It's interesting that "Sherpa," a Himalayan people living on the borders of Nepal and Tibet, has come to indicate a clothing style.  I guess it refers to the warm winter clothing they wear of necessity.  They should get a royalty:they aren't wealthy people and could certainly use it.

Sherpa is a fabric made from polyester, acrylic, or cotton and is sometimes called 'faux shearling,' named for its resemblance to the wool-lined clothing worn by the Sherpa people of Nepal. Sherpa mimics the bumpy texture of sheep's wool.

Not only in clothing but the big thing in sheets right now...flannel sheets are now considered passe.  Who would think certain sheets would go out of style?!

Sherpa has been around for years usually seen in western wear.

"Sherpa style"'in jackets and mittens, blankets and throws, etc comes into the stores every year, right on cue with the blustery autumn winds and falling leaves.

I was watching it and heard her say Sherper I thought I must of not heard her correctly and then she kept saying it.  I don't know how you get sherper from sherpa.
