I was at an event on Friday with lots of people. Just about all the young women were wearing what looked like wildly flowered sacks for dresses. They were mostly midi length and drapey, and truly unflattering. I just thought "Why do they want to make themselves look so dumpy?" I don't get it. Some wore ankle boots with them. Yikes.......

I must be getting old, but I still think a woman's body deserves better.

@BriggsiePeawiggle So are you saying women should/must try to look hot?  And what are you saying by "dumpy?"

I think it is pretty sad when women are expected to only wear "flattering" clothing and criticized by other women when they aren't.

NOPE......jump to conclusions much? I'm saying there are much more flattering styles than "little house on the prairie" dresses to hide in.

Commenting on women's clothing is something women have done from time immemorial. It is interesting to see all kinds of viewpoints and comments. I don't see the need either to reprimand those who don't like certain styles. So many interesting viewpoints and that's what makes the world go round!

@BriggsiePeawiggle I am guessing they have different taste in clothes from you.  If you don't want to see people wearing things you don't like, you can stay home.

Oh for heaven's sake. I thought the fashion board was for posting all sorts of viewpoints on fashion. The judgy judgy here from some of you board police is beyond the pale. I'm allowed to express an opinion. I'm sure you do too.

Gee @BriggsiePeawiggle, "judgy judgy"?????
