SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WED., APRIL 7)

Glreetings, shopping friends. It is a beautiful sunny day with temps expected to reach the 80s. This is weather I can handle.

I didn't sleep well last night and was up early to put the trash out. I'm currently watching the Noon news but early this morning, I did watch a presentation of the TSV. I have to admit that I  would reallly like to have it.

I need to get things back in order before I decide to purchase something liike the TSV,  Right now, after this cup of coffee, I'll be heading to bed to rest.

Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WED., APRIL 7)

Hello Jean and all who follow, we're on a our second hazy sunny day and for reasons I can't explain it seems warmer today than yesterday even though the temps are the same, lol.  I cracked open a couple of windows and am letting some fresh air in the house.

The delayed allergic (?) reaction that I experienced on my left arm following the first Moderna injection is calming down today.  The area isn't itching or burning at this time and the redness is fading.

Linda, I hope that you are feeling okay today and I'm sorry to read the sad news about the puppy.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WED., APRIL 7)

Jean, your weather is what we had all weekend.  It's going to be in the 70's today and then make a downward spiral into the 50's most of next week and a chance for rain every day for about a week or so.  We are in a drought and there have been a lot of wild fires so the rain is needed m. It's a good thing that we got a lot of snow this winter.

Easter was just 4 of us, but it was still fun.  Our eldest dgs was the only Easter egg hunter.  He enjoyed taking a few goodies back to his apt.  He is very busy with his classes and is a good student.  He is looking forward to getting a summer job at the Univ.  I can't believe that he is finishing his sophomore year of college already.

On Monday, we went to a town 45 miles away to get away from it all.  We got a carry out lunch from Cracker Barrel & a few things that we were out of from Big Lot's.  Then we took a quick stroll through Kohl's.

On Tuesday night as I was watching tv, a guy drove into the driveway and after putting 2 big bottles of pop on the porch, he rang the doorbell and pounded on the front door.  I called my dh from the basement to answer the door.  The guy told him that he had a delivery for our address.  We didn't order a supper delivery  so I don't know who it was for.

My DH and I are still doing our whole house spring cleaning job.  We just got done with the main floor, but have the basement to do next.  Doing a room at a time has worked well for us, but it took a week longer than we had planned.  We are not as quick as we used to be.  The mind says one thing & the body says a different thing. Lol.

Lunch was a carry out from Chop Sticks.  Supper is leftovers.

We are heading to the gym soon.  Tomorrow is grocery shopping day.

Hugs to all of you.

Bird Mama, I am glad that you aren't having a real bad reaction from your vaccination.  We have had weather way above normal for a few days.  It's going to be in the 50's by Friday and most of next week.  Thank goodness as I am not looking forward to a hot summer like last year.

Linda L, that's such sad puppy news for your dgs and his wife.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WED., APRIL 7)

Hi Everyone!

KomKat--Glad you are getting some rest. The TSV caught my eye but it would have been a good alternative to purchasing a new oven.

Twinny70--It sounds like we might be trading weather between our areas. Yesterday it warmed up into the 70's and today is warmer yet. No rain in the forecast so a few days to get a jump on outside chores.

LindaLatte--Glad you are enjoying the spurtle. I do try to limit my gadget purchases but Kuhn Rikon and spurtles are a weakness.

I was off to a slower start today but I usually am after grocery shopping, etc. I wrote some checks and balanced the checkbook plus a few misc. paperwork tasks. I'm going to declutter a small area in the office room just to clear the tops off the storage drawers.

Blue Jean Chef has a sloppy joe receipe on her Facebook page for a pressure cooker that sounds good. I use her beef stew one and it comes together in no time at all. I'm still a slow learner when it comes to the pressure cooker but I figure one meal at a time and it will serve it's purpose.

I was able to watch some QVC this morning and saw Marybeth presenting the TSV. That sure looks nice and does everything but microwave. Nice to see an all purpose oven plus on the market.

I gave all of my non induction pots/pans, crock pot,roaster/electric grill to our DIL at Easter. They have a larger family and a tight budget so it was well received. I'm glad they will get some good use from the supply.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (WED., APRIL 7)

Good Evening and thanks for getting us started, Jean.  Hope you were able to get some rest.  I think the TSV might be a good idea to replace an oven if yours isn't working well, but mine is fine.  Plus, I have a toaster oven, microwave, crockpot, Insta Pot, etc.  Quite a lot of appliances for a person who lives alone.

Our weather is nice today -- partially sunny with a high in the mid 80's.

It is funny how it can feel warmer or colder despite being the same temperature, Bernie.  Glad your delayed reaction to the vaccine has passed.  My arm was a little sore, but not bad.  I did use an ice pack for a while.  But, I have been off and on tired and not feeling the best, so I took a Tylenol last night and one again today before my OLLI class.  It was an interesting class, but I had some trouble staying fully awake for the first few minutes.

The lady who found the appointments at Walgreens wrote me to say that she was very disappointed with the lack of organization for the second shot.  She said the line (last time only a couple of people) had 10 people when she arrived and 25 or more when she left.  And, she was there for 1 1/2 hours.  They allowed people without appointments to come in addition to those with appointments.  That was true at my Walgreens as well.  Quite a mess.

Hi Glenda.  Glad you had an Easter celebration.  Good for your DGS.  It is amazing how fast they grow up.  I still can't believe all four of mine have already graduated from college.  Sounds like you and your DH have had some fun times.

You have been busy as usual, Fressa.  Glad your DIL can use the kitchen items you no longer need.

They repaved my street this morning, and it looks beautiful.  However, at one point it felt like the whole house was shaking.  I took a walk, and they have a few more streets to finish, but they are making wonderful progress.

I ended up ordering a new shower curtain rod this morning.  The one I had kept slipping down, and I was really tired of trying to get it back up.  The one I ordered from Amazon is more expensive than the one I purchased years ago, but it gets very high ratings for staying in place and holding wet towels.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone has a nice evening and sleeps well.

Hugs,

Linda
