SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (TUESDAY)

Good evening, shopping friends. I greeted the day with a phone call which went something like this: "I don't know what your comfort level is for driving on snow covered roads, but could you sub for us today."

I peeked out and agreed, knowing that this school was located on the most crooked roads in the county. I ventured out simply because it was an opportunity to work and I was tired of sitting doing nothing valuable to me. Trust me, I breathed a sign of relief when I reached the school. Half of the county was blanketed with a deep snow; the other half just got flurries.

It was a great day...after I reached the school. I don't like driving in snow but will if I need to. As I returned home, I was most thankful for a good day and safe driving.

I really like the TSV and have the perfect spot for it. I can wait, however. I'm on a mission to achieve my goal. Today makes Day 56 of not buying non-essentials. I consider this a major success for someone who used to joke that they had the TSV on auto delivery. I really didn't buy them that much then but the buying is sharply reduced. It has to meet a need right now; the want can come later.

Trust me, this shopping for essentials only can be addicting. Yes, I'll be buying but I don't see new clothes bought until Fall. At that point, I'll know more about my size and how it is affected by weight loss.

I did wear my Denim & Co. pants to work today and noticed that they were much looser. I likely could go down a size right now but since I'm not one that enjoys the "sausage casing" look, I'll wear these as long as possible.

Have a great evening!

Re: SHOPAHOLICS: ONE DAY AT A TIME (TUESDAY)

Hi Jean -- glad you were able to work and drive in the snow. Snow driving isn't my thing, and fortunately that isn't much of a problem in this area. DD said they were having snow today, and I saw more is predicted for this evening for their area. I know she is very tired of winter. Happy you had such a nice day at school/work.

I like the TSV as well, but I don't have an ideal place for it, and I have quite a few house "needs" that require attention. Our neighbor/builder quoted a price for our roof coating that was higher than expected, so I'm thinking about getting another quote or two. What bothers me is that these coatings have to be re-done every five or six years. When I had roof replacements in Maryland, they costed more but also lasted quite a while.

Today I did my volunteer work at the senior lunch program, and DH visited with friends. We are just back from the gym, and I'm happy to get that out of the way.

We are having a rare cloudy day today, and it is cooler weather. I think it is possible that we will have some rain later in the week and highs in the 60's, which is quite a bit lower than what we have been having. The rain is very needed, so I hope it does happen.

It is funny about the D&Co. jeans -- I have a couple older pairs that fit fairly close to the body, but the new ones are fairly loose. They are all the same size, so I don't know if it is how I washed them or they were cut smaller. Not a big deal either way since I don't mind things being slightly different in size. I don't like skin tight stuff or very loose stuff, but .... I have to say that I'm really enjoying "shopping my closet" lately. I guess I was in a top-buying phase last year, and now I have quite a few to pick from which is nice.

Waves to Kathleen, Susan, Marijane, Rosa, LindaR, Twinny, Nancy, Karen, Sonya, Arlene, Val, Gayle, and all of our posters and readers.

Sleep well everyone!

Hugs,

Linda

Linda--Sometimes, shopping the closet is great; I've found items long forgotten that were worn when first purchased but lost favor when new items came in. This just indicates that the new items weren't really needed if the prior items are in great condition. It is always good to get a couple of estimates.

Oh shopping the closet. Our front has arrived. It is dropping in temps and rain is on the way. Yuck!! I know we do need the moisture as we are still very far behind. Saw in the paper from the City that water usage is down so they will be raising the rates!!!! We have been under mandatory water restrictions for a few years now.

I liked the TSV but didn't purchase it---I have seen this or something similar in the past.

Hello friends! I tried to start us earlier and kept getting an error. I had a very stressful day at work but I did what I was supposed to, got through it and felt good about it all once I was on my way home. Kayla came out to visit so we went out to eat, now watching Kyanne playing with my GrandDogs. Smiley Happy
