Good afternoon, everyone. I just returned from the city as I took advantage of an early morning run to visit Lowes and also to shop for groceries. I now have some flowers to be planted as well as a shrub to replace one that had died. That is my big shopping of the day.
Right now, I am relaxing with some coffee. Afterwards, I guess I need to get motivated and do some planting as I work the next 3 and final days of the school year.
Have a great day. If you shop, shop wisely.

Good afternoon, Jean - what are you planting in your yard? I like to hear about people's gardening efforts. My tomatoes are happy to have been moved to larger pots. I will plant them in their permanent garden spot next week. meallen - thanks for the flowers!
I have felt good the past couple of days, so I've been playing catch-up. Got lots of errands run yesterday, including the hair trim. Also made more progress on cleaning out my DD's bedroom. I think I'm down to removing my clothes from one drawer. Just one drawer to go! Then there's some general stuff to clean. I spent 2 hours this morning getting the yard watered (not counting everything that's on a drip system). Like Linda, it got over 96 degrees, so we have to have everything watered before we leave on our trip.
FASHION report - because we do talk about clothes from time to time. I'm not getting very dressed up for my DD's graduation. I vacillated back and forth, and decided on some black jeans and a black print top. It's pretty comfy and it's flattering in photos. A tad on the casual side, but I really didn't want to wear a dress. From what I hear, graduations are pretty informal these days. My older black jeans have gotten baggy, so I dug through a storage tub and am able to go down a size. The plus size is that they're brand new and are looking at their best. Now I have to make sure that the rest of my family looks half-way decent, lol.
Lots more to do, so I better get busy. Waves to all ~ Charlene

meallen--Thanks for the flowers for today. You always make great choices.
Charlene--The Euonymus - Emerald 'n Gold shrub is planted to replace a dead one of another variety. Time will tell. One of my cherry tomatoes looks as if it is starting to turn. For fashion, I'm wearing Denim & Co. crops with a Denim & Co. top of unknown age for both.I saw some cute tops when I went into Walmart to get groceries but I kept on walking without checking them out. I've noticed people are going increasingly casual to graduations. I think the black outfit will work well.

Jean, good luck with planting your flowers & the shrub. DH & I went to the Garden Shop this morning. It is 3 miles out of town & has a wonderful selection of everything "garden ". We bought 2 minuet weigela bushes & 2 pygmy barberry bushes & 4 tomato plants. 1 Mr. Stripey, 1 Tomato Sun Sugar (yellow tomato), 1 Box Car Willie & 1 Sir Speedy (extra early red tomato). They were only $1.99 each. We came back home & dropped them off at the house & headed 22 miles South of us. I hope that you have good days at school to close out the school year.
DH filled 8 milk jugs with Artesian water, got gas at $2.23 because it is $2.45 almost everywhere, had lunch at LJS & took a returned item back to Menard's.
CERB, I am glad that you are feeling better & able to play catch up. I am also playing catch up. I didn't do much for about a week, but I am now the " Energized Bunny" again. Getting your haircut & errands out of the way givees you time for other things. Your graduation outfit sounds perfect. I have noticed that when our DS got his Doctorate degrees, the younger people were dressed to "The Nines" & us parents were dressed nicely, but not over the top. We are expecting thunderstorms here tonight, so my DH has his "turtle sandbox" under the eves trough hoping to get it full of rain water. He will have plenty of things to water in a day or two.
Barbecue is in the crock pot for supper.
Our friend Ken that has Parkinson's Disease so badly has skin cancer again on his cheek & will be having surgery on June 1st. He had a biopsy done last Friday. I am so glad that they were able to go to Mexico in March.
Hugs to all of you.

Twinny--It sounds as if you have a great selection of plants. Sometimes, it is difficult to choose from all the varieties that are offered. Gas here is $2.45 also and seems to be creeping up again. Dinner sounds great!

I finished that assignment I was working on a week before my leader hoped to receive it. I went out to dinner with some girls from work - I don't get to work with them as much as I used to. It was so lovely.

Good Evening, and thanks for getting us started, Jean. I had good luck with those shrubs in Maryland. Hope your last three days of the school year are good.
Nice flowers, meallen.
Your outfit for the graduation sounds nice, Charlene. Glad you have been feeling better and were able to get some things done.
Hi twinny. Your plants sound great. Sorry to hear about Ken. The husband of DH's daughter's friend is getting better. They were able to remove the breathing tube. But, he may need a pacemaker. A lady who helps out with the senior lunch program may also be getting a pacemaker.
Great news, Bernie. Glad you had a chance to go out to dinner with the girls from work.
DH must have a cold or be having allergy issues since his voice is pretty weird and he is doing a little coughing. I made sure to give him some orange juice when I visited today. Hopefully, he will be better tomorrow.
I finally made it to the pool yesterday, and I really enjoyed swimming. It is quite hot here, and the water was refreshing. I hope to be able to go swimming again tomorrow or later in the week. Today, I had the senior lunch program and then went to the gym before visiting DH.
Waves to all of our posters and readers. Hope everyone sleeps well.
Hugs,
Linda
